Kinsler FI

I didn't take a car, not feeling like sitting under a canopy in the heat all day, but a friend called saying he was going down to Ottawa to walk the Old Marais River Run gathering yesterday. I walked around with camera in hand, but ended up taking only two pictures :HMMM:
As we entered there was a very nice '32 Roadster that came by, sounding wicked at a fast idle, great exhaust notes and a fantastic induction system that I didn't recognize. Later we happened upon it and I asked one of the guys about it, a Kinsler fuel injection system that he said is very popular on sprint cars. 8 pipes bring the air in & 8 pipes bring it back out.. but wait.. the hedders at the hood say other wise.. Confused? Potentially an "over-compensation"?
Maybe Napolean complex?? LOL.. Or, if a little is good, alot is better? I thought that was an awesome show - the one time I gotto go. tyvm!

The top picture reminds me of the Speed Sport roadster out of Tuscon, Az. It's a fuel roadster that made incredible noise, for the time, with the 8 exhaust pipes exiting under the rear of the body. I saw it run a couple of times at Lions in the early 60's.

Ok, that's interesting. Each individual pipe exhausts to equal atmospheric pressure thus perfectly eliminating harmonics from adjacent cylinders.

Nice concept. I'd expect superior low RPM cylinder scavenging and excellent street-a-bility.

I didn't get down on the ground to check the details but like Mike says above, the headers tell a different story. Somewhere between the front & back there's a collector that's fed by two, exiting with eight, likely just above that quick change unit....
