A Great Weekend

It was a great weekend! Yesterday was the Tucson Street Rod Associations’ swap meet. Cade I had been talking about going for couple of months if I was up to it. Unfortunately a couple weeks ago Cade was informed he couldn’t get time off as this weekend was the stores Veterans Day Sale and nobody would get time off especially him as he’s managing the Service department.

I was more than a little disappointed as this will probably be the last Swap meet I’ll do. Cade and I always had a good time at the Swap meets and I had a fair amount of parts I wanted to put back in circulation. Recouping some of the money I had tied up in them wouldn’t be bad either.

The plan had been to have my younger Grandson Austin help me load the truck and Cade helping me set up and then reload what didn’t sell. I knew I couldn’t handle the loading or unloading myself so had pretty much written off going at all.

When I told a friend I wasn’t going he said he and a friend had a few parts they were taking up and volunteered to go up at the same time and they would help me set up and tear down. After thinking about it I agreed (I wasn’t really wild about imposing on them like that).

Anyway it was a perfect day. Sunny, about 70 degrees and perfectly calm. Dennis and Steve were true to their word and helped me setup and reload what didn’t sell. I had a great time, we got a chance to BS, I saw a few old friends I hadn’t seen in a couple of years, made some new friends and in spite of Cade not being there generally had a great time. The cherry on top was I had a personal best ($ wise) at a swap meet.

Sorry no pictures, but it just looked like any other swap meet, and as I said I wasn’t up to doing any walking around…..a good way not end up bring home more than I took.

I can’t thank my family and especially my friends for making it happen. My backs paying for it today, but well worth it.
