PURPLE
RED ok, :whacked: Purple hay Jim what’s up with that :D
How do I go about get in the old Geezers club?
Some of the guys say I should leave it as is
Purple is a very popular color for hotrods. Traditional flames stand out good on a grape purple car. My '51 will be a medium dark grape purple.
A buddy of mine had a purple 23T looked sharp with all the 70s graphics
I like it the way it is too. That shiny stuff just makes you mad the first time you get careless and chip it with something. (Like damn jack handle but I uhhh wouldn't uhhh know....)
Me buy a hot pink car? maby when I become color blind to the color red. I like purple hotrods, Hot pink could look cool if it was done to the right car. Generally, pinks do look nice on late 50's cars when done a 2 tone pink and white combo.Quote:

To be a senior Geezer club member ya gotta send all the other club memberz $5,000.00 CASH (no checks) and then do the pledgin' thang and learn the complicated "secret handshake" from Techinspetcror1.....PLUS paintin' yer ride a base HOT PINKcolour under the 2nd coat of grey primer...
Pink looks good on a female-driven race car Matt. That's all I can think of.
Well I guess I’ll pass on the old geesier thing but the truth be known a good frend of mine has a 1953 Willy’s that is as close to hot pink as I would like to get

How about plaid? when was the last time someone saw a plaid car? or, since you already have a blac basecoat, how about high-metallic black? looks good on everything:)
Please note: this is a good example of "bullsh*$$*ng". Or, if its true, I never plan to become a geezer club member!:whacked: :whacked: :whacked:Quote:

Hey you know a paint job I haven't seen in a while.....
Doily.(sp)
You know you old guys its a paint job where you lay a doily as a pttern and clear over it or something like that. Little help please I can't find any pics at the moment. It used to be so cool painted on vans and the like....
Andy
That was done by spraying a color over a "lace" doily, like the side of this body I bought many years ago.
yep I'll agree purple wouldn't be to bad:p :D :D
NO BLING
suede is the way to go:D :D
better......now lets see Red John
Okay a red one
or how about a pretty blue one:LOL:
Thats sweet too...but I think the Blue with purple belts get my vote.
I still kind of like the purple but the blue aint bad either maybe we should ask tree to put some flames on themQuote:

HOW ABOUT A FLAT DEEP RED COLOR PAINT JOB, NO TOP COAT. YOU SEE IT DONE IN BLACK AND GREY A LOT BUT NEVER RED. MIGHT BE THE NEW THING. AN UNFINISHED LOOK BUT WITH COLOR.:toocool:
leave it the way it is and add shiny black flames with a hint of silver in it....will stand out without and yet at the same time it will have its intergretty....unlike hot pink.....unless thats what ur lookin for..pronsally i like rough lookin rods but stylish at the same time

When all is said and done I think you’re right maybe some light flames or scalps in the old school theme simple is coolQuote:

John, Is falling off of your shop roof a serious problem? Just exactly what were you doing up there? And has this happened before? Where's the boss? You may need some more supervision!!! By the way...12 years....your still on your honeymoon...she obviously travels with you and she's awful pretty!!!!Quote:
