The wife's "new" car
Last year, I picked up a 77 Mustang II body (original V8 Cobra II), and decided I'd put it together figuring I'd make a few bucks when I sold it. It also gave me an excuse to use up some of the old hot rod parts I had laying around. It basically went together as a streetracer, earlier 302 4 BBL, header, functional shacker hood scoop, C4, 9", traction bars, 5 lug conversion, manual steering, and standard heater.
The other day the wife and I were talking about the work I wanted to do on her car (90 Chrysler Le Baron rag topYUCK) which is primarly a paint job. As it turned out, she decided that she would rather have the Cobra than the convertable. She'd driven the car to work last spring until it got to hot to drive without AC. Besides being more fun to drive than her convertable, she enjoyed the attention the car got.
Well, at this point, it now has power steering and I'm finishing up installing factory AC. It will also be getting a new hood with a non functional scoop during the monsoon season. It's a nice change for her to have a car that I actually enjoy working on for a change!!!
Visited a family member at Dockery Ford from the time I was 1 year old through their ownership and then ownership change to Morristown Ford. Dockery was a major player in the Hi Performance...
How did you get hooked on cars?
