If Dan comes home with a stray horse, I'M OUTTA HERE !!! :D :D :D No, you are right, I grew up with horses....my Dad was a horse lover, and we had them until he passed away when I was about 12. They become like big pets and each one has it's own personality.

Don, My best one he went a mile 1:51.1 and won $292,000 over three years racing. Wish they all where that good. Fastest I ever went in a 1/4 was 15.10 , makes you wonder one horse power verses 500 horse power and the horse ran on hay and grain......lol

As much as I love animal's, I have a car related question. I probably should put this in a new thread, but the smartest people seem to come to your's.;)
I am getting ready to put the new wiring harness in my T, I was going to put it under the dash, but then I thought it would be cool to put the fuse block under the floor on the drivers side. I thought I could build a small metal box that was weatherproof, and that way if I wanted to pull the body off in the future I could maybe have one weatherpac connector to the inside wiring as the only thing to disconnect.
Are there any drawbacks? The fuse block will have to be under the floor because I will be using bomber style seat's, and there will not be enough room under the seat.

The only drawback I can see is wetness Ron. How dry can you keep it? Under the dash is a real problem on T's, because there is almost NO room. In fact, now that I have seen the seat stringer I am going to use, I am going to redo much of my wiring to put the switches and lots of the electricals under the seat. There is almost not enough room under the dash to get my hands to wire the gauges and all.
With the bomber seats, you are pretty limited as to hiding spots. I would say if you can solve the water and accessibility issues, you should be fine though.

I thought I would butt in and give another opinion. There are two options if you wanted to put your electrical under your dash, that I have thought of. Wait let me get up on my soap box. O.K.Quote:

I am a firm believer in making these cars come apart easily. You just never know when it will be needed. I guess I'm still programed from my drag racing days. To me it's worth the extra time spent for ease of maintenance later.

Ken, I like the drop down idea. Dan is going to put a hinged panel under his '29 with the fuse block mounted on it and a thumbscrew to hold it up. When he needs to change a fuse or something, he can release it and get it to an easy to see position.
My '27 was a bear to wire up. I laid on my back, upside down, with my feet over the roll bar until I had cramps in my back. The '23's are even worse, with almost no room under there.

Later on, I'll post a photo of how I did the panel in my '34. I mounted my panel on a piece of birch plywood from the hobby shop, and put 4 strips of high-strength velcro on the back, and 4 matching strips on the firewall. With a little extra loop in the wiring, I can pull it loose and drop it down where I can see it.

Just a quick kitten update...................Lucky is going to stay with us. :D We were worried how the other two cats would accept him , especially Chewy the male cat, but they have actually become best friends. Chewy is a typical young Tomcat, full of energy and always wanting to wrestle, but Lucky isn't afraid of him, and they play all day. In fact, he has pretty much adopted the kitten, and you never see one without the other.
We took Lucky to the vet the other night to have him checked out to make sure he had no problems, and he was 100 percent fine. They also told me he is a male cat...........so I guess I shouldn't be looking for a job as a cat checker any time soon. He fits right in here, and I am glad we are keeping him.
Today I hope to get some time at the shop working on the body, and next week I am going to order my starter and final parts so that I can fire the engine.
BTW, I'm really sorry to see what happened to the '57 Plymouth in Tulsa. They should have put it in an above ground crypt.

Bob, I took to heart the post you did about how pets come into our lives, and you were right. I'm glad Dan made the decision to keep him, and I have to admit I sort of encouraged him to do that. We just couldn't see this little survivor go to an uncertain future. At least here he has a good home and other cats to live with. The male cat was pretty bored before he came here, and now he has a buddy to play with, which they do about 23 hours a day. :D
