We've all heard the stories of the "cat lady" who has like 50 of them........no way I can turn into the "cat guy."
Besides, these things live like 20 years............the darned thing would outlive me.
Don
I'd take him off your hands but it's too far to drive right now. Unless I find an a refrinery in my back yard.
Don, the thing looks sweet man, I have been comming in here reading the posts and such but not responding but I just wanted to tell you that I like the orange. When I thought about doing a 27 or a T I wanted to do it in that orange as well after I saw the picture of Circle City Hot Rod's old T they sold or was supposed to. I can't wait to see the end result. I am still slowly getting parts and putting them to the side for a 27 build. I got a 9 inch ford rear housing not too long ago and will have the center chunk for it soon and 31 spline axles too (free of charge), I have the 302 and 3 speed tranny. Maybe one day I will be in the stage of the build that your at now. :D One at a time though.
BTW, that aluminum T box is very cool and VERY different. Odd looking but that is what makes it look cool.
Thanks alot FMX. I finally feel like it is getting close to being a car. Can't wait to see yours when you start. :)
That phonebooth T is pretty cool. The part that makes it nice is that he is going to use it as the shop truck. He said he built the bed heavy and long so he can throw driveshafts right in it. I think he is even putting a/c in it, if I'm not mistaken. He must have miles of tig welds joining all that aluminum together, not to mention the cost of the aluminum itself. I was impressed.
Don
Honestly Mr.revenue man ,...its not a still ,its a refinery...:LOL:Quote:

I'm going to divert for a while and start back on the body. I have to fiberglass the underside of it, then I can finish up the cockpit and dash. Once that is out of the way, I can begin prepping the body for paint.Quote:

Then I can finish up the brakes and brake lines, cooling lines, fuel lines, etc. By this next weekend this moving thing should be out of the way, and I can get back on the T full time. :) :)

Pops, there's a reason animals come into our lives, through whatever means. You and your son should take the sign for what it is and give this little guy the kind of home he deserves, not risk sending him off to someone who he didn't "pick".
I know Bob, but being that Dan and I both have two each, it is just impossible. As much as I would love to keep her (finally checked : it's a she) ) I can't. We have even thought of friends or relatives, but can't think of anyone. In any event, she is going to be better off than the certain death she was facing if Dan had left home a few seconds later. She would have never made it through one light change.
I am typing this with one hand because she is sleeping on my lap now and is using my one arm for a pillow. :D :D I'm going to do my best to find her a good home.
Don
We found this little guy on our front porch one evening about 6 1/2 years ago. He was lost and yowling his heart out. We already had two cats, so I was skeptical about adding another, but, fortunately, the older two adjusted to him pretty quickly. Now he is a 19 pound behemoth. Luckily, he is the gentlest-natured cat I've ever seen. With his huge size, he could be dangerous if he was aggressive...:)
Hey don ill trade you one of my dogs for the cat:)
Hotroddaddy,
I never would have taken you for a cat person.
Personnally im a fish person, if it were up to me i would have a fishtank in every room, I dont mind cats or dogs, but im to selfcentered to take the extra time to care for them, so i choose not to have them, unfortunatly the wife and kids dont feel the same , so we have 2 dogs and four cats. but in her defence, she had the cats first, they stay outside though so theyre not bad, but the dogs are a real pain, let me know if you want one.
Don, sure wish you lived closer. That little female looks like a really great cat. I wouldn't mind replacing my lost one. I let Tigger out on tax day 2005 and he never came home. I figure either one of the stray dogs or coyote got him. Tigger roamed a lot.
If I get another cat, I will probably make it just a house cat and never let it out, cause your really miss them when they disappear.
hotroddaddy: Super offer, but dogs are too much work......gotta walk them, etc. Cats, you just put food and a litter box out, and you're set. :D :D
Duane: Sorry to hear about your cat. The other two have been housecats all their lives, except one time Scooter (the fat one) escaped. We posted signs, walked the neighborhood, etc. I thought she was gone forever. Day later I hear a thump on the door, and she was back, but I don't think she came by herself. It was pouring rain, and she was bone dry. I thinik someone took her in, then discovered how much she ate, and brought her back.  (I claim her at the end of the year as a dependant.  )

Oh oh. The talks are now starting to lean toward "maybe another cat wouldn't be so bad !" Dan is thinking that someone else adopting Lucky would be a crap shoot as far as how good of a home she would get. It's still not 100 percent, but it's at least in discussions.
Easy for him to say, I'm the one who has become a full time baby sitter. I forgot how much attention these little things want.
Don
Sounds like you raised that boy right Scrooge..............................:D
BTW, you've seen pics of my little guy who started out with hair about that length. As he nears a year old he's stayed what I'd call a medium length hair cat. We have a daily ritual, he jumps up on my lap in the early evening and gives me that "hey.......it's time for my brushing" look. Apparently he likes it............:D
Oh yeah Bob, they love to be brushed. Everytime I do mine they fight over who gets it the most. I usually have to take them outside to do it, because I get enough hair to build another cat or two. :3dSMILE:
The pictures you posted of yours are really cute. :)
Don
Don, I know what you mean about one more want hurt. While I was married I couldn't get rid of any because the wife made pets out of all them (3 dogs, 6 cats, and 200 horses) Man I was never so happy to get that divorce out of the way. I kept 1 dog, 1 cat and 5 horses, she kept the other dogs and cats. We sold the rest of the horse. They steal your heart with their big sorry eyes.
Brad
If Dan comes home with a stray horse, I'M OUTTA HERE !!! :D :D :D No, you are right, I grew up with horses....my Dad was a horse lover, and we had them until he passed away when I was about 12. They become like big pets and each one has it's own personality.
But I can't imagine having as many as you did.  :)
Don
Don, My best one he went a mile 1:51.1 and won $292,000 over three years racing. Wish they all where that good. Fastest I ever went in a 1/4 was 15.10 , makes you wonder one horse power verses 500 horse power and the horse ran on hay and grain......lol
Brad
As much as I love animal's, I have a car related question. I probably should put this in a new thread, but the smartest people seem to come to your's.;)
I am getting ready to put the new wiring harness in my T, I was going to put it under the dash, but then I thought it would be cool to put the fuse block under the floor on the drivers side. I thought I could build a small metal box that was weatherproof, and that way if I wanted to pull the body off in the future I could maybe have one weatherpac connector to the inside wiring as the only thing to disconnect.
Are there any drawbacks? The fuse block will have to be under the floor because I will be using bomber style seat's, and there will not be enough room under the seat.
Yeah, sorry I turned this thread into "Animal Planet."
The only drawback I can see is wetness Ron. How dry can you keep it? Under the dash is a real problem on T's, because there is almost NO room. In fact, now that I have seen the seat stringer I am going to use, I am going to redo much of my wiring to put the switches and lots of the electricals under the seat. There is almost not enough room under the dash to get my hands to wire the gauges and all.
With the bomber seats, you are pretty limited as to hiding spots. I would say if you can solve the water and accessibility issues, you should be fine though.
Don
I thought I would butt in and give another opinion. There are two options if you wanted to put your electrical under your dash, that I have thought of. Wait let me get up on my soap box. O.K.Quote:

I am a firm believer in making these cars come apart easily. You just never know when it will be needed. I guess I'm still programed from my drag racing days. To me it's worth the extra time spent for ease of maintenance later.
Just my opinion,
Ken
Ken, I like the drop down idea. Dan is going to put a hinged panel under his '29 with the fuse block mounted on it and a thumbscrew to hold it up. When he needs to change a fuse or something, he can release it and get it to an easy to see position.
My '27 was a bear to wire up. I laid on my back, upside down, with my feet over the roll bar until I had cramps in my back. The '23's are even worse, with almost no room under there.
Good ideas. :)
Don
If I can hijack the kitty thread . . .
Later on, I'll post a photo of how I did the panel in my '34. I mounted my panel on a piece of birch plywood from the hobby shop, and put 4 strips of high-strength velcro on the back, and 4 matching strips on the firewall. With a little extra loop in the wiring, I can pull it loose and drop it down where I can see it.
Don, don't worry about the animal's we all need them in our live's.Quote:

Mine has reinforcements for the dash, and steering under it, while I think I could make it fit I think it would be better under the floor with access under the seat. I would use a box like the battery box that is cut into the floor on the passenger side only smaller. I will find a way to do either forward tilting seats or some sort of quick release seats for easy access to the fuses.
Ron
Don, I know your moving and don't have time for the T, but I'm having withdrawals. Just wanted to keep the page active...........LOL
Brad
Don - I was going to come over and help you guys but I have a headache:D
Yea, me too.Quote:

Then our Comcast internet wasn't working. Had to get them on the phone last night to get it resolved. Finally got my computer put back together a few minutes ago.
All we have to do is a little last cleanup on the old place and we are done there. I worked until 12 last night scrubbing stuff, and only have one room left to do and we are finished. I hate moving.
Just a quick kitten update...................Lucky is going to stay with us. :D We were worried how the other two cats would accept him , especially Chewy the male cat, but they have actually become best friends. Chewy is a typical young Tomcat, full of energy and always wanting to wrestle, but Lucky isn't afraid of him, and they play all day. In fact, he has pretty much adopted the kitten, and you never see one without the other.
We took Lucky to the vet the other night to have him checked out to make sure he had no problems, and he was 100 percent fine. They also told me he is a male cat...........so I guess I shouldn't be looking for a job as a cat checker any time soon. He fits right in here, and I am glad we are keeping him.
Today I hope to get some time at the shop working on the body, and next week I am going to order my starter and final parts so that I can fire the engine.
BTW, I'm really sorry to see what happened to the '57 Plymouth in Tulsa. They should have put it in an above ground crypt.
Here are some shots of Chewy and Lucky playing in our moving mess.
Don
Don, glad you survived the move. Remind me not to have Don fix me up with any females........LOL the old guys eyes are going can't tell a female from a male...LOL
Brad
Glad you gave the little guy a "pardon".:D
Just got back from the SoCal trip, will post pics later....................I think we had more fun than moving! :3dSMILE:

Bob, I took to heart the post you did about how pets come into our lives, and you were right. I'm glad Dan made the decision to keep him, and I have to admit I sort of encouraged him to do that. We just couldn't see this little survivor go to an uncertain future. At least here he has a good home and other cats to live with. The male cat was pretty bored before he came here, and now he has a buddy to play with, which they do about 23 hours a day. :D
