I have to agree with tech....I was trying to figure out how this setup would eliminate the need for a panard bar. I just dont see it. It looks basicly like instead of a 4 bar you have a 3 bar setup. and the "Y" on top is just pushing against the 3rd upper bar with a side load. Or am I missing something?
But I must admit, your welds are beautiful!! Wish I was half as good!
Don---Thanks for the pictures. Since the fellow already has a set of newly purchased coil-overs, and a Panhard kit from Speedway, I went with a pretty straightforeward 4-bar design, and will use the Panhard rod that he has.
Brian, glad to see you got her all fiqured out. Looks like a very workable solution.
I had a really strange week this past week. Tuesday I woke up and had some discomfort in my chest, and by the time I got to work it hadn't gone away. Since I had a heart attack 18 years ago, and this felt a lot like that, I called my Cardiologist, and they told me to go to the ER. So, I did, and they admitted me for observation. Kept me there all day Tuesday and Wednesday and ran every test known to man, including Nuclear medicine and stress on a treadmill. Found nothing at all. Said the heart looks good, but that my Cholesterol is high (159) so I gotta work on that. Released me Tuesday night, and I feel fine now, and think the pain may have been muscular from all that grinding on Sunday.
Then, Friday at 5 pm the "new" General Manager at our Marina comes into my office and tells me they are eliminating my position. No big surprise, I knew 3 months ago when Ritz Camera/ Boaters World bought us that my days were numbered. They simply love to employ minimum wage people, or slightly above, and we were all on a pretty good pay scale. We made a lot of money for the family that owned and just sold the marina, and they really took care of us because of that. Ritz has tried twice to make a go of the marina business and has failed both times, and the VP told me personally "we aren't going to let that happen again." Well, guess what, they are on the same path once more if they think they can run this business without experienced people. Business and moral have both dropped dramatically in the 3 months they have owned it.
So, there is good news and bad news. Bad news is, I lost my job. Good news is, I lost my job. :D :D Now I can spend some time finishing up my car. Every time I wanted to go to a sandblaster or some other business, it was during the week when I had to be at work. Now I will be able to do that stuff. I have already had one person call me with a semi-offer of a new job, but I told him to give me a little while so that I can get some things taken care of. I don't want to jump right back into something right now, and need some time to figure out my next career. I didn't think it would be cool to tell him I wanted some time off to work on my hot rod........might make a strange impression. lol
But in the meantime, I have ordered some of the final pieces I need for the engine, and yesterday I worked on the battery box. That is about the final work I need to finish before the frame can go to the sandblaster. As work goes on, and there is more interesting stuff to post and photograph, I will do so.
But the worst thing of all...........CHR was down all week !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad went to the ER the other day with chest pain's he'd been having for a few day's. He had a heart attack a year ago. They didn't find anything either, on his way home he remembered helping me split firewood last week. Alway's better safe than dead.
Compared to what you've been through, my problems are a walk in the park. :( How is the healing going beyond the four link? What a freak accident, and just goes to show you what can happen in an instant.
Yeah, I am disappointed in the direction the Marina has gone. We worked so hard to get it where it was (we were up 35 percent over the year before, and that year was also up from the previous one) to see it go this direction is a real bummer. Our Service Manager put in his notice Thursday, so it would have been tough staying without him anyway. He and I had a great working relationship, and were part of a super team. One by one they are leaving.
At least I saw this one coming and prepared some things financially, so I will be able to take my time and pick and choose the next one carefully. Plus, I am eligible to retire in 6 months, so I have that to consider too. Maybe I will just start cranking out a car once in a while to make up the difference.

Don Sorry to hear about your good fortune being terminated. Back in 94 I was offered termination or I could stay with the sinking ship(not). I had gotten slips in my checks for a couple mounths. ( Your job may be eliminated do ro reduction in force) Hell I just bought a house and a truck been divorced 3 years. I was on top with a job that paid more than I thought I should earn. My then girlfriend got her walking paper in May. I went and talked to the plant manager he said if I left there would be no change in my retirement. Well May 6 94 I got married and moved to MI I had no idea what I was going to do and realy didn't care. That mounth in 94 I took my watch off and put it in my desk drawer. Its still there. I started my own busines ran it for 10 years paid my bills and in04 RETIRED this mounth I'll get my first S.S. check between that and my retirement I grosing as much as I was working my butt off for. I don't owe anyone (other than my mortage)anything. I work on my cars when and as often as I like. It can be done. :3dSMILE: Good luck pal

Don, believe me I know all about those chest pains. I was suppose to leave here for Bonney Lake, Wa on the 7th of February for my youngest son's wedding. I woke up totally unable to breath and with my chest hurting like an ape had walked on it at 5 am. Set around trying to breath and get on the road for several hours, but at 8:30am I gave up and called my son and said I couldn't make it. Went to the the Cass County Hospital in Atlantic shortly after and found out I had pneumonia so bad they wanted to hospitalize me. Finally got them to issue meds and came home and have just know finally kicked it. Life can be such a bummer at times. I missed Lester and Jessica's wedding. Oh, well. I guess staying home and getting well is better than the alternative.
