Then I had to punch some holes into the tubes because that is the way the ones were on that website. They had a bunch of little holes shaped like "scoops" throughout the tube, I guess to break up the sound waves or something. Since I don't have a degree in muffler science, I did the next best thing...........I stole their design.First I drilled a bunch of holes and intended on using my air chisel with the pointy attachment on it, but Dan had already gotten to it and welded some attachment on it for something he was doing.
So I just hammered a punch into each hole and shaped it like a little forward facing air scoop.
Then I welded the tube into the flange from the backside so no weld would show, and bolted it on the headers.
I couldn't wait to fire up the car to see if it was quieter, and I have to say it is only marginally so. But this is my starting point, and I plan to add some diffuser rings and some stainless steel scrubby pads inside to see what that does. Maybe when I get the car out in the sunshine it will be acceptable as is, but inside the shop it is still pretty loud.
Now I just have to temporarily paint the flanges with header paint, then after Daytona I will get them Jet Hot coated like the headers. Another advantage is that I think the hot exhaust gasses will now blow by my body rather than scorching it like the open headers might have done. If they are still too close I will add turnouts.

I did not know Mike very well, we exchanged some messages from time to time but from what I understand he was a very good man. I was sad to learn about this
