I don't know Dave................that so called '35 roadster had more bad lines than a Chevy Chase movie. If you think it looks bad in pictures you should (nah you shouldn't) see it in person. The ONLY thing I liked on that was the hood ornament..................it's the dirty ol' man in me. And whoopie, you can buy those on his site now!
This one I don't find near as offensive, though it doesn't make me smile either.
Well now that I see more detail of it I'm sticking with my orignal responce.. "It does nothing for me" For what that thing cost to build he could have had just about any car out there. I guess its what ever rocks your boat.
Amazing workmanship as usual. But, when you put lipstick on a pig . . .
I feel just about the same way about Foose's P-37. And yet, the magazines are falling all over themselves and raving about both.

Yep, the hood ornament (on a street rod?) is neat.
What is scary is that he does have some great skills, but maybe as he gets older the controlled sunstances that he MAY have used in the '60s has messed with his mind. But then the artsy-fartsy types can be different...and that's OK (go to an art show sometime or, as I do, volunteer at a theater doing scenery and you will have a better understanding that they are not the same as 'normal' folks) and we need them to make the world a bit more colorful

I guess even top builders and shops like Posies and Foose turn out some duds now and then. I am not nuts about the two cars pictured, and feel the same way about some that Coddington has done. And let's not even talk about some of George Barris' creations.:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
But, as you guys have pointed out, the magazines react as if every car that these guys create is some ground breaking, trend setting car. Sometimes we car guys look at them and say "what the h*** was he thinking."
I still think this is one of my favorites though, and it came from a little known builder. He did have one asset you guys mentioned though, LOTS OF DRUGS.:eek: :eek: :eek: :D :D

I dont like it at all.. It looks wierd and nothing matches. And if your going to build a ride like this which is going to be seen by many peoples then how the hell can you miss the gaps between the two plates on the roof? Anyway Posie have built quite some rides before but the last projects havent been in my taste area.
@Henry: Isnt Foose car named P-32? and not P-37? I've some vague memorys of that..
Yep, it was P-32.
About the only good thing on that car is the engine. Must be parts from 5 different cars on that.

IT IS EVEN UGLIER (5-6 SYLLABLE UGLY FOR ME) IN REAL LIFE AND IMHO TOTALLY WITHOUT MERIT IN THE STREET ROD WORLD

I know I'm far in the minority here, but I actually like both cars. The only thing on that Chevy that I'd change is to add some color instead of primer gray.

Well I am for one glad I didn't see the car at York this weekend. WIth the heat and seeing that thing, I would have definitely gotten sick. His last several cars have been interesting, certainly not good lookers. Weird might be a fitting description. I think that the Extremeliner may have been his last nice one. Can you imagine the asphalt temps? and I changed a stuck on aluminum rimmed 265/70x17 tire on my truck Thursday about 2:00 - no wonder I had the shakes and got sick - then seeing Posie's car (which sounds like an idling corn binder)
Dave - was your truck the dark (black or blue) pickup (full size Chevy/GMC or maybe a Ford) sitting in the swap meet area (had NY tags) on Saturday. Saw someone (you?) in the truck about 2:30 PM, but didn't want to be rude and ask. When I came back that way a little later, the person was no longer around the truck. Guess I may have missed my big opportunity to greet a fellow rodder.:(
A dark green Ford F150 P/U with NY tags in swap meet site Lucky 13 - 'twas me. If it was ~2:30, I think I had the A/C on and was cooling off. Evidently I got some food poisoning Fri night as I was sick as a dog and awake until ~2:00AM. I threw my few leftover treasures in the truck and went to the Toyota building for an hour to cool some more.(I had a pretty good sales day on Friday:3dSMILE: )Quote:

Sorry to hear you got a touch of food poisoning. I know that can be miserable. I didn't have that problem but after we got home Friday evening ( I live about 20 miles south of York) we got a hellacious thunder storm that dropped 6 inches of rain on us. Fortunately for those at the Nats they didn't get it. Hopefully your car will be ready for next year and we can meet up. Just don't forget to bring a top, tonneau, or tarp with you. We had rain at least one day the last 4 years at the Nats. This time it hit on Sunday during the awards.

I missed most of the rain this year except for a couple of short duration frog stranglers on I-83 going back to the hotel in Mechanicsburg. One of the local TV stations was on and it appeared that the storms went around my area. I am all to well aware of the yearly downpours at York - been to all but 2 shows since 1986. The new car has a very high quality material for a top and am taking all precautions to seal the body real well.
There are about 100 acceptable pictures on a CF card in my camera that need to be tweaked a bit then posted, probably Photobucket or SONY for others to look at.
Hope we can get together next year and put faces to names - but until then there is always CHR:3dSMILE:
