Dave, no sweat as I said on the boot. Like I said earlier, I do have a Lokar shifter boot, # is 70FMB I think it was... It also has the cheap flimsy stainless trim. So it sounds like the one you have is the match to mine. I was gonna complain about the lack of pics but I see Bluestang already got ya! :LOL:**):3dSMILE: Especially after all that work on choosing seats! OH, and btw, what's an "IB" for the cruise?:confused:

Bluestang, I've been following your work also. Looks GREAT! Keep it going!

On a personal note. I'm still working yet my department is down to 2 of us! Down from 8! Every day I wonder if I'll survive the week! :mad::HMMM:

The shifter boot should go on tomorrow as I had to make a 1" riser and paint the carpet color. The e-brake boot will follow in a few days as I'm not sure how tall to make that riser until the shifter riser is on.
(of course I had to include one for a perspective view:LOL::LOL:)

SWEEEET, DAVE!!!!!! It's looking really great! Those seats look pretty comfy in there. I think you're going to be able to put some miles on it by springtime! Wish I was that far along on mine....:CRY:

I'll agree with Randy! Not sure why you were doubting your first decision but, I think those seats looks sweet! Certainly look to be comfortable! Oh, and regarding the pics, we want MORE!!! :LOL::LOL: :3dSMILE::3dSMILE: :D :)

The seats - yeah, I'll admit that they do look good, but they are too bulky, particularly the back. Remember, I'm pretty tall and I have a firewall that has a 5 plus inch recess and with my size 12 foot - tight

IB = Instruction Book or in this case, Installation Book.

There are 10 or more wires and a less then great schematic, a bag of parts with only 40-50 percent of them identified, twelve DIP switches with 4-5 of them a guess as to which way they are to be set. Then to top it off, the operating cable is a set length (too long) so I had to buy a $70 Lokar(out of stock everywhere) that could be shortened - and that cable had no information as to how to shorten either so a phone call to Lokar. Then to make life even more fun the Dakota Digital IB differed from the on-line Summit version and they both differed from the manufacturer's on-line version. Then of course, since the car had already been finish wired, many, many of those nice cable ties - they had to be cut which I then did again for the stereo installation. I think this car has probably kept the cable tie industry alive this past year:whacked::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Of course, this is no big deal as building a car from the ground up has to be a challenge and a time eater. Those without patience need not apply if they want to do this kind of project:D

I just love the "IB" with the handwritten instructions done by a 2nd grader! :eek: That's usually what I find.:whacked:

Since I don't want to violate any of the unwritten rules, yeah, right! I searched for a few pics to share. I can't find any from 2000 when I bought the frame but I did locate some from 2001. These first pics are from the trip to get the body. I bought the body from a guy in Frankenmuth (spelled?) MI. And some friends had family nearby. I was living in New Mexico then. Anyway, we made arrangements that they would travel home for a visit and on the return trip they'd go into MI and pickup the body and I shared fuel costs back. So here's some pics that they would e-mail me from on the road.

And then here's 3 with the body setting on the frame.

Those are great pics but the "unwritten rule" which I guess is getting is getting written as we speak....:LOL: is that you post pics of what you just worked on, i.e. your window installation. That way, all these faithful viewers can see our progress and perhaps relate it to something they're doing on their own project. Now get out there and take some pics of those windows!!! LOL!
