I don't have a misses to tell me that stuff...:D
Lack of time, money & space tells it to me!!:CRY:
Hey she`s cool about it, I still buy parts, I`m still working on the ford 9, housing from a `69 bronco. 58 inches, have a set of 31 spline axles for it, just taking my time looking for a 31 spline 3 to 324 geared posi, missed several on CL because I was just to slow,,but it will happen then I`ll switch to a deeper dish TT wheel.
Thanks guys, I with you did`nt want to cut it up, heck, I never cut the fire wall, I did it the hard way.. it took me a week to build a lower alt mount to put it on the lower left side, nothing premade (store bought) would fit or couldn`t adjust. so started with steel plate for the base to bolt up to the lower two bolt bosses, and started tacking up steel scrap until I got the desired position and adjustment, then pulled it off for measurements and cut one from 3/8 aluminum stock with a saber saw, then polished. Now its way down almost out of site. The guys at Vintage Ford said it couldn`t be done with a stock frame, until I showed up at one of thier shows.
Just a belated Thanksgiving wish - hoping you folks all had a good day.
Bobby - you DO need that 'A' even if you just do a quick flip and sell
Randy had to go way back in the pages to find the pedal thread you did . Once the car comes back I would like to have a little idea and remember how you converted it over .
I will be watching for a good deal on a power set up soon .
Now I am back to staring at that Black 37 , Rich really cant say enough about that car .
Sure, Bobby, I'm happy to help however I can. In retrospect, there may be an easier way than what I did but I was trying to use parts I had already bought. I had the car set up for a C4 trans so my MC/power booster setup only had one pedal. Obviously, converting to a 5 speed, I needed two! After looking at the pics of your existing pedals on your 37 plus a new clutch pedal setup from Pete & Jakes http://www.peteandjakes.com/blog/index.html, I devised a way to modify one pedal setup into two.
Are you going to keep the original X-member in the frame or do you have plans to make some big changes to it? That will make a big difference for how you approach the pedals....
Randy I am keeping the X member . I looked at the pedal assy today too and they almost look identical to yours I think I can mod its mount with a power booster assy and mount . . I will have to weld different bungs on it to accommodate the M/C and clutch cable . I will have to figure it out more again once its back . I will have a few pics to add in a short .
