unconventional rat rod
Im in the middle of building a toyota rat rod that will be flat black with flat black smoothies and wide white wall tires
-Body mods-
4ft bed molded to the cab shaved emblems, mirrors, third brake light and rock guards.(i would shave the door handels but i like to run it at the strip and their rules prohibit shaved handels)
-chassis mods-
the wheel base has been shortened 23inches. it has a four link and air ride suspension all 1/2 inch
-power train mods-
it hsa a full roller naturally asperated 289 with a C-4 transmission and a ratchet shifter
-future mods-
tripple chrome tripple opening lake pipes (functional) with flame throwers. glow in the dark flames im thinking about chopping the top 6 inches but ill keep every one posted
p.s i know that my ride doesnt fit the traditional rat rod qualifications so take it as you will, i still think it is the coolist to me
p.p.s ill post pics as soon as posible
Ill take rust any day over that itchy ass fiberglass!

Sounds like a cool project, good luck on it. Maybe you can mix some mosquito spray in your flame throwers and make a few bucks later on?

Sounds really neat. I was going to do something similar with my old Isuzu P/U but then someone tried to park a Dodge caravan in it while it was going 55MPH.

depends on how open minded people are
i lookat it like this i like my truck and really dont care if anyone else does (but i ment the pic when i said not the best one) thats my perogative beauty is in the eye of the beholder and i take that statement to heart im puting my progress on desplay for my own pleasure as with any project there is prais and ridicule yo take the good with the bad and keep going.
im opened minded the people that i respect are the people who at least try. no mater what they done and what it looks likeIll take rust any day over that itchy ass fiberglass!

There's nothin wrong with ricers. It's a good choice for someone to practice on before you buy a real rod or muscle car. If you screw it up real bad it's no big deal. Just junk it and buy another. I never heard anyone say "I wish I'd kept my old Toyota, or Nissan or Subaru"
Don't Ricers have a forum where you can get information? I don't think there are many ricers here.
I like the idea of makin a rat rod out of a ricer. It's a step in the right direction.
Keep your eyes open for a bargain on an old Ford or Chevy or Studebaker and you'll find a lot of friends here.

" I like to annoy people that don't like ANTI-NORMAL "......Well...ole buddy..your off to a good start................
The cylinders have to be inline.!!!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
