Opel rekorc olympia (p1) - 1959

Since the car finished the mechanic inspection everybody allways said the car was too high, but we allways tought it was due to be in a lifter with the leafsprings not making any strenght during about 7 months.

Other day in a local classic meeting i met one guy with a car like mine and his car was much lower then mine and we inspected it and found that mine had one piece placed in the oposite way.

everybody said to keep the original door panels so i kept them and restored only the seats.
Now i put the chrome trims again, it's not perfect because the panels are burned from the sun but it's the best i can do keeping the original panels

Wow you have done a great job with that. The rear window reminds me of the one in my 1953 Studebaker. I have seen and driven many Opels while in Germany. They are a Division of General Motors. We had a 2 door 1969 Kadett Wagon. That little wagon ran great and was almost indistructable. Amazingly, the fuel gauge in it did not work either, we carried a stick to check how much gas we had.

Sure does look a lot better with the back end lowered! The new upholstery and the clean up and paint on the trim looks great!

I would like to have one,I did find a wagon version in a barn but all the windows were broken and no roof on the barn so after 40 years of sitting it is junk.

I am curious as to what interchanges Disk brakes, engines, trans, Ect any help would be great!Attachment 44576 and any window rubber info would be great as well I am not looking to restore but make a reasonable powered reliable car.
