no scanner. and he can not draw well and neither can I
Mike; This really looks professional. How would it look with a gray background with a few rods phantomed in , in the background(barely visable)? Also the border to be an oval.Quote:

See upper left corner of this page. Best I have seen. I'm with Dave. Besides, you want recognition? 40,000 people already recognise it.
Just for the heck of it....

OK Had to give it a shot -
Couldn't find an old Dodge Logo - and would probably substitute Chrysler for the Mopar Logo after thinking about it.
Thanks DW - your circle of matchbox cars spawned the circle of logos idea.
The center was snarfed from some clip art I found.
ok !!!!! LETS SEE IF THIS WORKS, if it came out , I couldn't load the original

gentleman...
Here's a fairly quick design I put together, using a few simple effects on the text to make it stand out a bit, and using hot rod style fonts. It kinda looks a bit odd, with the curve of the main text, and the angle that the car is on, it looks as though none of it is centred or lines up, but it does. You kind of have to look at the image as a whole for it to look right, instead of focusing on one element at a time.
I also put it on a T-shirt design just to see how it would look. I'm open to any comments and criticism, or suggestions for colour changes, I wasn't really sure what colours to go with. I may do a few more similar designs, but with different car pictures etc.
Anyway, here is my design.

that is really beautiful. except that you forgot the o in rodding. put me down for 4 hats and 4 tee shirts if it is picked the winner.
That one is for sure in the top three. :D
Oops, I didn't even notice the missing 'o'. I guess that's what I get for late night logo making, missing letters! I will fix it a little later and repost them, along with a few more perhaps.
Ok, here is my second design? There's no limit to the number of entries is there, because I might have a few more, but they're all basically very similar, just a different car or text position. For this one I decided to go a bit more straight lined, the text is no longer curved and everything is all quite parallel.
Here it is.

I think I'll make this one my last one, unless I come up with some more bright ideas, because they all follow the same themes, and are pretty traditional, hot rod style designs I think. I guess it would have been nice to get a different car on there, but the kinds of cars I have chosen represent hot rods as a whole pretty well I think
Anyway, here's my design.

Ok, I lied, here are a couple more! One with a '55 Chev, and another with a pretty cool Woody!

The site has a good mix of Hot Rodders and Muscle Car types. For that reason, I think Denny W's design with all the cars on it best suits the Club Hot Rod.
Not everyone here wants a duece roadster or a 55 Chevy. His design shows the diversity that makes up the membership of this sight.
Oh, one thing, could you shoehorn a Caddy in there somewhere?? (Just kidding).:whacked:
No mattter what you do with the design your'e not going to be able to cover everyone. Look at the current logo that's been there for years...it doesn't.Quote:

An appealing aspect of CHR is the very broad variety of interests expressed by the people who make their presence known on this forum. Any day you log in you may find drag racing enthusiasts, radical custom lovers, street rodders and rat rodders, model car experts, guys whose sole interest is engines, and on and on and on. The list could be a yard long.
We have an extremely helpful and knowledgeable crew of contributors. It would be a pretty rare and off-beat car question that didn't get a qualified "been there done that" answer.
What I'm trying to get around to saying is that we don't need a logo that suggests that we are limited to any particular area of automotive interest. Not a reproduction '32 club or a Chevy club or a strictly street machine club or drag racer's club, or whatever.
If somebody is a car person, well, COME ON IN! Glad to see you!
Signshop's presentation attracts attention without giving the impression that we are in bed with anybody.
I like it.

Wow! Great stuff in this thread. Do you think we are ready to vote yet? Or are there more coming in we should wait for?
IMHO, I think you should set a cut-off date. Feb 10th looks good to me although others might prefer something sooner or later.Quote:

Maybe I should have said "in cahoots".
By the way, what is this reference to "size" in the quote?
Ah, Bill, ........ Am I kicked off the forum?
Jim
Yeah I agree, set an end date to have all submissions in by.
QUOTE=Bob Parmenter]HEAVEN FORBID!!!! I'm not THAT old yet!!!:D
What what I was referring to was that gibberish that comes after "QUOTE["
when you quote from a posting....... It says ".
Now, That's got me bothered!
Jim
red text, size 5 font, html code! No inference to Uncle Bob, I hope!
Brent lets set a date with a few days for any stragglers to get in a design, then go from there. I suggest you pick your top three choices and then put it to CHR's to vote for their favorite!
Eye site must be failing (along witheverything else!) I missed the Caddy, ouch!!
Simple scmimple, make it all encompassing, or not....All the ideas are usable.
:D
Just for clarification, the designs I have posted are only really examples of the style that these banners or logos, or whatever they are, could be done in. The pictures I have used have come from stock photos website, and it just so happened that the best, high quality ones that suited what I had in mind for a particular design, were mostly of the roadsters. However, I did make the '55 Chev one, and the Woody one, just to show that any car can fit in there fine.
So I have created one last design, featuring many cars. I have taken the woody and the '55 Chev from before, and put a coupe in there, as well as a Mustang (though I think a Camaro would be preferable to be honest, represents muscle cars better in my opinion). But again, any car coudl go in there, it's just a matter of finding the pictures to suit.
Just a warning, it's a little bit larger this time.

I was almost done with my design and the Nurses here at the home took my crayons away. But some of the great ones you guys have posted gave me an idea. Since the name is sort of like a nightclub, (you know, CLUB HOT ROD), what about sort of a diner motif with cars sitting around outside and a marque that reads CLUB HOT ROD??
All the ones that have been posted so far are terrific though.
Don
Ok, lets say the 10th is the cutoff date. Thanks for the submittals thus far.
Here is another.....

I have to admit I like the original logo, but with this saying,

We have a local hardware chain, with "If we don't have it, then you don't need it", slogan, funny enough they don't sell condems!
