Track T Info Needed

Looking for some help.....

Im currently considering building a Track T..... Yup I have been all over the internet looking and it seems that Speedway Motors has the most complete car on the market but I do have the ability to fabricate many of the parts that I will need so Im not limited to the purchase of a complete kit....

A few years back there was a company that I believe was located in the northeast and then relocated to Fla... but as much as I have searched they seem to have disappeared... The company went by the name of E Coast Cool Cars and had a web address www.ecoastcoolcars.com.... Their car (modeled after a 27 Ford style) as I remember had a long extended door that almost consumed the entire side of the body they also used an independent suspension system on the front end.... The car was impressive although as I remember was quite expensive. I would like to know if anybody has any information on this company and if they are still in business. I would really like to hear from anybody that may have purchased one of their cars and how the assembly quality was.... I would also consider the purchase of one that is still in project state or complete....

I did also find another car that is very similar but utilizes the traditional suspension and I would consider it more of a street rod style than Track style... This company is Precision Fiberglass in Kansas... I have written numberous letter to the company regarding their kit and only get small bits of information back on 1 email... I cant seem to understand why these companies spend the time with a website and dont reply to correspondance.... Do they really think that anybody is just going to send $5000.00 plus on a sight unseen product.... Damn they dont have good photos on the site and cant seem to get their act together providing the consumer with details of what you get for your mone........

Any help will be greatly appreciated....

You might want to look at Zipper Motors. I notice their old website is down and is under construction. They do have contact info on their temporary page.

Those are off the top of my head, if I can remember any others I'll add.

You probably need to figure out just how traditional you want to be, and whether you want a 4,6,or 8 cylinder engine. For example, the Speedway deal you referenced is for a 4 or 6, not 8. Yeah, could be modified, but then you lose any advantage of buying their design.

Normally I endorse the buy someone else's abandoned project with few caviats, but with this kind of car, often being at the entry level of the hobby, it requires a little more scrutiny of what you'd be buying. If the asked for price is right for the accumulation of parts, and you can afford to throw away anything that the previous owner may have fowled up, or that was just junk to start with, and still come out, then it would be okay. Otherwise it could be one step forward, two back.

As for piss poor business people, they're sending you a message. They may be good craftsmen, might build a good product, but if they don't know how to run their business they may not survive long enough to deliver after you've paid. Heed the warnings!

WOW...... Not being familiar with Shadow I checked their website to get an Idea as to the pricing on their bodies..... I venture to guess there is much waiting time to get one of these.... A fiberglass bucket body in my estimation would or should top out at about 500 to a grand... I had to read the literature 2 times as I didnt believe my eyes.... A simple Bucket body sells for $9,600 .... If you want the Trunk style body get ready to fork over $11,900.... WOW.... Thats a big markup to go from Glass to steel..... Dont think that they will be selling many of these....

Im still hoping to hear from anybody that is familiar with Ecoast Cool Cars
