well if you want to keep your motor its up to you what you want to do like i said earlier, high winder? or torque?12.5's can be done in your car with many differnt motors. is this going to be your daily driver? or a race car. how many times a year will it see the strip?

I know That 5.3 is one of are new GEN SB Chevy engines and it is a COOL one . But Car Craft did the same with a Lower C/R Junk yard GEN I 350 . And even better HP #s with a Junk yard Mopar 318 . Also the 4.8 SB Chevy the 5.3s little Brother we have some small trucks at work with them . They have no low end Torque . Even with the OD Trans and a 410 gear . But from 3000 to 6000 RPM they pull real good .

A 500 hp 383 street build is very common these days.

That's what I'd like to build Pat, probably have to settle for a 496 though...bummer....

Well let's see... There's a lot of extra weight missing from the car, the plastic bumpers are missing, the back seat, overweight cast iron steering box, baby sized differential, poorly designed torque arm, stamped steel control arms.... Can't think of much else I could lose, but if you have any ideas let me know!!!...... Sure do wish freight wasn't so high on a 'glass hood!!!!! The stock one is way too heavy....

yes i know dave it will run like hell with a good 454 in it but some guys just do not get the big engine thing you know the TQ they would wined the $hit out of some thing and have to run a big gear in it:D
