Guess I don't understand why more people aren't building these 82-89 (or whatever year they changed). They're light, cheap, and tons of them around!!! I suppose the funky rear suspension scares a lot of them away, but all the parts are available on the aftermarket to make them work right and be strong enough to take some horsepower.... I'm probably getting a bit carried away on this one, pretty much business as usual around here, but a stock bodied version with an updated rear end would make a nice platform for most any size chebbie you would want to put in it......
Dave tons of guys build them GEN III 1982 TO 1992 Camaro's . I have many friends at Third gen Camaro that I buy parts from and talk cars . The biggest problem is there 7 1/2" rear ends . I did hear about a 9 bolt ? Rear end that is in the 90s Camaro's . That 9 bolt ? Is the stronger rear end . And some had a Dana 44 . Like I said before 375 hp and up will turn a 7 1/2" rear end in to DUST .
Good to hear somebody's doing them... not many at all around here. Like I said, I think they would make a great platform for a go-fast build!!!!!Quote:

I bought a 7 1/2" Posi unit and the 3.42 gear set out of a 1985 Z-28 . I heard there was a shortage of Posi's in the mid 80s ? . The price was right so I picked it up .
Highjack?????
Long time no see . Now that your here ! How would you build an engine for this 1973 Nova ? ? :HMMM:Quote:

Let's get back on track with that 1973 Nova
those are 3500? whaa????
That ones lighter with that 1970 front end .
The 5.0 ford engine ,into the miata ,is becoming a more popular swap .......kinda like modern sunbeam tiger....
I would like to do one ,but live in californi, soo no streetability makes it a exspensive toy.
The engine in that car is impressive in stock trim ,a little upgrade to 350 375 hp and i image they are hand full.
I have seen some vids on youtube or google that showed impressive road course handling with this set up....I will look for the vid ,the miata was passing porches and ferraris no problem...
