One way to total a '32 Roadster

I'm of the opinion that lack of consequences is the reason people are like that. if the kid had got beat, or the old guys mirror knocked off by a hammer as you went by, they'd think twice next time. I once had a women cross three lanes of traffic from a driveway on the far right to try and get into a turn lane. I was on my motorcycle and had to lock the brake sand turn, going down, I swear I wasn't a foot from her door when I stopped. I looked up right into her window, she looks right at me, made no acknowledgement just made her u-turn and left.

Here's a story for you. friend of mine had some german car, a glass, glaus, something weird. apparently it was kinda rare and the paint he'd ordered special for it. he takes it to local sears (30 some years ago) and parks it out in middle of nowhere as per usual. comes out and some jackass has parked his truck smack next to it, no cars anywhere around, no reason to do it. he gets there and sure enough the guy dinged his door. the guy comes out to find my friend slashing his last tire and of course being a d*ckhead gets into it with my friend, who proceeds to top it all of with kicking the guys butt.

I bet that guy never dinged a door again either.

I had another sttory I wanted to tell but can't remember all the details, will summarize this way,"friend of mine got rearended by some clown, fender bender type not major damage, got out, grapped tire iron and knocked out the front windshields of the guys car)

I believe a society which has real consquences for things is a better society. my office door just got spray painted the 2nd time in 2 weeks, kid gets caught they get taken in, spend a night in juvee and their out, no big deal. now you go all singapore on them and cane the kid, and I say do it publicly in front of the place they live with friends and family able to watch, and you know what, it'd stop right quick. somebody gets in a car and kills somebody while driving drunk, you know what, it's murder. a car is more dangerous than a gun and you knowingly drink before operating it, thats murder. a few years ago a colleague was driving some parents home after a meeting (you know student's parent) and they were hit. she was hospitalized, so were a couple of passengers, and one was killed. she had to receive counseling for a long time because she felt guilty. the drunk driver, yeah, 9 previous.

Four letters will describe why consequences will never happen in the good ol USA like they do in Singapore.

I've been to Singapore - it's immaculate, people don't swear, smoke, chew gum or look like something the cat would never drag in.

Then there's Saudi Arabia - if you are too naughty and especially if an infidel - well they might just lop off a significant piece of your body.

Maybe I'm turning into a sourpuss old man, but the attitudes of people these days really makes me mad. Nobody takes responsibility for their actions any more, nor do they care. Even neighbors, who used to look out for one another, aren't even courteous enough to slow down so you can pull into or out of your driveway anymore. They crowd you out like you are in the way.

They talk about the "me generation", but I think the " kids of the me generation" are even worse. How can someone wreck into somebody and cause those kinds of injuries and just leave? I now understand the bumper sticker I saw that read " The more I know people the more I love my dogs!"

I'm so glad Ken that you and your Wife were not injured seriously by that idiot's carelessness. I'm also glad you didn't get to extract your pound of flesh, because guess who would have come out ahead on that deal with the goofy courts we have today?

I should just let this go but I cant. I am not Mr Bond. I do not work for Mr Bond. I have a small hot rod shop and I mostly build rat rods. I did however build a couple unibody coupes. And I do believe they are of good quality and quite safe, compared to regular street rods. Im sorry you guys werent happy with your deals, whatever they were. I didnt have anything to do with it, and I wouldnt promote, sell,build, or put my name on a product that I didnt believe in.

Well, if you believe in Kyle, all I'll say is be careful!!!!! Everybody deserves a second chance, but after the S. Carolina misadventures, he's gonna have a real uphill battle establishing himself and his company as a legitimate, trustworthy business enterprise......

Ken I am so happy everything is going well for your wife and friend, my prayers are with you all. I do totaly understand about todays drivers who seem to go through the world with blinders on. I have been so close to being wrecked here where there are no shoulders and big oak trees! I hate to see that car smashed up too but I look at that car a little differently maybe? I see a pretty well built car that took several high speed rolls and stayed in-tack. I would say that who ever built the car did an outstanding job and may have been survivable possibly. People have come out of worse. A tribute to the hobby.

You are right, I was lucky. He hit the front wheel perfectly, broke the rack and pinion and the front wheel, but I believe that is probably one of the strongest parts in the car it just spun us around 1 1/2 times, wound up on the other side of the intersection.

Cruiser-Yes, no one got a plate number, there was one whiteness but he was so concerned with helping he stayed there.

Do a search on "Gibbon" on this site, and you'll find more reading than you might think.

Basically, the fit and finish of Gibbon projects went down the porcelain convenience near the end of the South Carolina "adventure." My car wouldn't fit the motor and trans it was designed for. After I carted it back to SC to be fixed (trip at my expense) it STILL didn't fit. I won't go through the litany of other stuff, it's all on here somewhere.
