Need reliable Vegas custom paint shop!
I am going to do some design drawings for a Vegas builder. He doesn't have a favored paint and body shop, and I am a little too far away to help, so we are asking for recommendations.
It's an older truck, so the body is most likely rough.
Looking for full service....able to produce quality work.....and the artistic ability to do murals, flames or lettering.
If you have first hand experience with the shop, that would be a plus, so we know how they do business. (I've been in this biz long enough to know that many shops have talent....or responsible businesses practices.... but not both!)
Thanks for any help you can give. :-)

Here's the guy I used here in Vegas to do my '65 Dodge;
Carl Brunson
2444 Losee Rd
North Las Vegas, NV 89030
(702) 651-0133
I'm not sure about the mural/lettering thing, all I had done was body and paint. But Carl has been around for quite a while and would know where to get those extra things done if he's not doing them now. He would be a good resource for your buddy in any event. In my case he did what he committed to, at the price he quoted and came in pretty close to the time frame we agreed on, though given that I only live here part time I wasn't on a tight schedule and didn't have the ability to make frequent visits to keep the prod on. Considering that, the timing was pretty respectable. Of course you're welcome to use my name as a referal.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Thanks, Bob. You are the second guy to recommend him, and I am encouraged that you had a good experience. We'll check it out! Jay

I have experience w/ the So-Cal Speed Shop Pomona store. Highly recommended. Not sure they paint here but wouldn't hurt to call or E-mail them.

Web site looks like a store only. I 'm not sure.

FYI, the Vegas store has facility to do some fab, but not paint. I'm sure they know many of the painters in the area. They're generally good folk there and the owner is a long time rodder in the area. On the not so good side I called them for a referal on a good flat bed tow guy to move the Dodge to the new place.....................he turned out to be one of those never returns a call flakes. Fair or not it has made me less confident of their referals.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Just watched " Livin The Low Life" on Speed. The show centered around Vegas. And one of the shops that I remember was called C&L. From what they showed on tv the paint jobs are very good.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
