Well if you're going to drive them
Well coming home yesterday in the truck I finished a couple month ago someone kicked a rock up that bounced across my hood and into the windshield.
Chipped a 1/2" X 1/16" place in the hood down to bare metal and broke the windshield.
THe glass guy's I have used in the past who are VERY good especially with the older cars have both moved out of the area and the place I had put the windshield in managed to scratch the paint in the process plus I had to re-lip part of the gasket in after he had left.
I've got an appointment with a different place to who will hopefully get the new glass in wothout screwing anything up and not end up with any leaks.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Ouch!. I caught a rock with my '34 this summer, but luckily the glass didnt break. Nasty chip in the hood, though. It won't stop me from driving it.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 09-27-2008 at 07:19 AM.

The guys who put them into covered trailers with car covers over them NEVER have those problems................I feel sorry for them.
I consider every stone chip or road boo boo a badge of honor.

I was leaving a show 3 weeks ago and as you come out to the road there's always a couple of hundred people yelling ("smoke them") meaning the tires. Well I don't mind buring a little rubber, but my 350 tranny is need of work so I take it easy on it. Guy in front of me had a blown big block with a big huffer and procedded to burn his tires up. The rubber smashed into my hood leaving a nice dent and some rubber marks. I jumped out and pulled him out of his car and told him to take a look at my 37 so he could see the damage. He was so drunk he couldn' stand up and there was a city cop right in front of us who didn't do a dam thing. Guy got back into his car a started to drive it away with no rubber on his wheel and everyone shouted and applauded his performance. I got his plate number and finally settled up with his insurance company, but it's the last time I'll go to that show.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
Happy really late birthday Mike! Lol
