Wow, the pressure to perform here is amazing! hehe:LOL:
Tbird has to go first to make room for the Duece..........On Craigs list as we speak. Keep our fingers crossed:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Yeah, Pops plays sax too, it has been a few years though. Keep trying to get him to play but he is content to watch Dan and I do it!
Yet another "bad habit" Pops turned us onto!
Is that you or pops?
That was me this past July 3rd with Deb and the Dynamics. Fun Group.:)
What kind of music? I know it says jazz and blues but what kind, who are you guys influenced by? I'm a big Coltrane fan!
We play Motown and Blues and my inflences are varied. Jr. Walker, Clarence Clemons (e street band). Michael "tunes" Antunes (Beaver Brown Band aka Eddie and The Cruisers movies) Just like that soul sax sound. Love Coltrane of course. I always gravitate towards that cool rock/ soul sound. Dan plays alto sax and sounds like David Sanborn (if you close your eyes you think it is sanborn in the room) Sounds like you play Stovens?? Music and hot rods just go together:toocool:
Unfortunately tunes avade me. I love music but lack any tallent. I played violin as a kid, tried piano in college and have tried to teach myself guitar, which I still haven't given up on, just bidding time to finish a few other interests like the truck. If I could play, it would be the blues, which is the perfect expression of our souls ! I too liked the e street band and the beaver brown band, and if blues is the expression of the soul, then the sax is the instrument of emotion!
I love music of all kinds from Classical to Country and everything in between:3dSMILE: (except Rap which sucks and isn't music anyway:p). Edgar Cayce said "Music is the closest thing to the language of angels." I envy anyone who can make music. I, unfortunately, am a "frustrated musician". I have an electric guitar, electric bass guitar, a violin, an electric keyboard, a full set of drums, two 5-string banjos and a six-string banjitar... and I can't play any of them...:CRY:
Ill tell you the truth about music for me.
I play the way I want too and with the influences that I love. Music is what it is to the person playing it. I love the fact my family is generations deep in playing and that is a great feeling, but we all have different tastes in what we want to hear music (including my family) sound like. If you have a house full of instruments Stovens and J.R. then play them to the best of your ability or what you hear and that fills your soul. I still say that hot rods and music are side by side important. Cool to hear you guys are into the music end of hot rodding like me. I hear music every time my cars start up depending on what the cars personality is spits out a "music personality" that I cruise to down the road. Neat to know we can get off the hot rod topic with a topic that hits every rodders heart-their music. I have a serious looker at the t bird tonight so perhaps they will take her from me and I can hear "green onions" coming out of my speakers soon in the coupe. Don Jr.:)
Don
