My best advice is do not cut the firewall. It can turn into a nightmare. Tweak the other stuff like HOSS said. Re-configure the oil pan or find another one from another application and use the pick-up tube that came with it. Be sure to leave 1/4" to 3/8" between the bottom of the pickup screen and the floor of the oil pan. Use a little pyramid of modeling clay stuck to the screen and gently put the pan in place, then remove to check clearance.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

If it's a 360 Ford the distributor isn't a factor..In the old days you just used a big hammer to make room..I remember when hot rods were all home made.

it takes a very big hammer to get a 351 in a pinto .. and even a bigger one oddly enuff to get a V6 chevy in one ( and a toarch and welder )

Must have been a nightmare to stuff a 351 with headers into a Pinto. I see the motor's moved to the right and tilted to the right as well. Wow.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
