I am in FCCLA so i third the motion, All in favor please post.
I cocure
and can't spell!
In the South we say:
BULL SHEEEETTT!!!
Liquid oxygen mixed with something that is already explosive without being mixed with liquid oxygen sounds like a recipe for fun to me. There is also the whole thing that iron burns in the presence of liquid oxygen.
I concur that he is a dipshit, but I also agree with 76. I think it would be fun to watch, given the potential for catastrophic failure. Hehehe. Everybody, look, quick. See that? His whole block is burning. No, it isn't the petrol covering the block, it is the iron itself. Yea, watch from a distance. I'm thinking if you work it right, you can get a thermite reaction out of it, and see the aluminum intake turn into aluminum oxide and the iron melt right through the asphault. But until that happens, you sir, are just a dipshit.
Man, I am really disappointed, I thought fairy tales always started with "Once upon a time". I remember from my Air Force days that Liquid Oxygen in the presence of oil and other contaminents results in a great big fire.
Maybe hes been breathin too much of that nitrous oxide, thats why hes dreaming of running a 4.60 on liquid oxygen.
We'll Streets; You must of heard that old joke too. About in the North,Fairy tales start out Once upon a time and in the South they start out Ya'll ain't gonna blieve this _ _ _ _! We'll that's the way I've heard it anyway. I thought you might like to know,If not Just Tell Me to Shut the _ _ _ _ up, And I'll be quiet while you guy's tell this brain how smart he is!
Vegas   :D
Liquid Oxygen I used @ arround -600 degrees
in a Nasa cool can plumbed to 4 weber 650s
Force loaned me a set of tires, ask him what it ran.
Brain, Oh I mean Head; As soon as we see Force post a reply on Club Hot Rod I'm sure we will all have a few Questions! Hey do Ya think, you could get Big Daddy Don to post a few reply's. I always liked him, Besides his place is just north of where I live and After I talk to him on Club Hot Rod I'll just jump in the old Cadillac an drive up to see him. And yes I like to dream too, Can't I Please. Sincerly
Vegas   :D
Techinspector; Now don't forget If you see Big Daddy Don go over Smack him on the back and say Vegas on Club Hot Rod said hello, Now he won't know me for s_ _ t, But then at least he'll have heard of me. HE!HE!HE! Oh Ya duck after you smack him on the back, I don't want you to get hit because of me.HE!HE!HE! Hey, have lots and lots of fun while you are out there, and then come back and tell us all about it. thanks Big Daddy Dons want to be friend. KURT aka
Vegas   ;)
Vegas yeah I remember them, I also
recall see'n a green Hemi Challanger
at bigs place, turned into a purple Cuda
now didn't it.
OK, heads, there a few problems with your theory. #1. iron burns when oxyogen hits it. everyone here has already said that. #2 If you manage to get oxyogen to -600, you will not have a container to keep it stable and a hose to feed the stuff in. #3, any weber carburetor becomes almost unusable below -50. Trust me, I run AMCs, and most of them run webers in the 80s. hitting at -600 would instantly freeze any moving part into unusable. Finally#4 If all of this was null and void, and you somehow managed to get around all of the, where are you going to get liquid oxyogen and the cooling agent anyway? I offically call you a dumbass. Feel free to distpute this one, I was a science major in HS.
Yeah, Mr Nasa thinks different
about his little platinium small block
and don't you worry about them
side drafts, matter of fact liquid oxygen
under enough pressure becomes
solid mass.Insulted steel platinium alloy
with platinium liner keeps it in place
Solid oxygen mass changes to gas
before it turns liqud.Platinum lines
just a little bigger than the hairs on
my ass pipe it in under the carbs.
Sooo...
"The Space Shuttle Main Engine operates at greater temperature extremes than any mechanical system in common use today. The fuel, liquefied hydrogen at -423 degrees Fahrenheit (-253 degrees Celsius) is the second coldest liquid on Earth. When it and the liquid oxygen are combusted, the temperature in the main combustion chamber is 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit (3,316 degrees Celsius), hotter than the boiling point of iron. "-NASA
....that must be a hell of a motor you're running there, What is the block made of ?you should post some pic's. Also please post some pic's of your brakes they must be fairly impressive also.:D
Dan
Absolute zero is the phrase your try'n to
avoid,further compression of oxygen turns
liquid to solid. After it has reached this state
it returns to gasious state then to liquid.
Clutch disc is a steel alloy not fiber,
braking is done with help from super duty
clutch set and a little M-22
Laxfan; Will you guys please stop, your killing me. I haven't laughed this hard since I was in the Army and seen a guy in the Army reserve trying to fill a water tank with a fire hose. It was just like he was trying to hold on to a Giant Snake 30 feet inthe air. It's times like that I wished I had a cam corder, man -o- man. Good Times!!!   :D
Vegas
I know the old rockcrushers are tough but....
.....The kind of power it would take to send a 67 hunk of iron to a 4.6 flat 1/4.....
seems like you wouldn't have a m22 left to help slow you down. But I guess I could be wrong. :whacked:
Dan
Ok I really didn't want to invest this kind of time replying to a HEADcase but since a few people have been a little off on the facts regarding liquid o2 I'll step in as educator.
Just so you guys know where I'm coming from. I transfill liquid oxygen every work day, several times a day. I deliver liquid oxygen to patients than need oxygen in gaseous form.
First. Iron does not burn when liquid oxygen hits it. Iron CAN burn in the presence of oxygen but it does not spontaneously combust. If it did I would be screwed evey time I try to tighten a fitting with a crescent wrench.
Second. Liquid oxygen becomes liquid at about -270 degrees farenheit and is usually stored at about -300. There is no point in storing liquid o2 at -600 f.
Third. Liquid oxygen can be bought by ANYONE, no license is needed. You can buy it at many welding supply places.
OK now for the reasons that HEAD is a dipshit.
1. Oxygen and oil (such as that left on valve stems) is EXTEREMELY explosive. If you were to introduce any significant quantity of lixuid o2 into the intake charge it would hit the oil on the intake valves, explode and blow the head apart. That's providing it doesn't interact with the gasoline just after it passes through the carb and cause a white hot flash fire.
2. If oxygen were used in a cool can as head suggests then the fuel would freeze instantly.
HEAD you really are a dipshit and a pathetic liar. Why don't you go out and start learning about cars for real, turn some wrenches, install a few goodies, see what happens when you change something on your car. Then and maybe then you won't be a dipshit and can start to have INTELLIGENT conversations with people about cars.
Abe
Steady as she goes Scotty, YOu dont want to destabilizes the dylithiam. Then you'll blow the whole damn core!
Congrats, Head. Haven't seen this lively a response since Streets streaked the New Member Sign In Forum wid nuttin on but his Keds and a Kevlar helmet !!! Your BS is almost as funny, but I still gotta give the top award to me old pal Streets. What?? Were we supposed to believe any of your dribble?? What a space cadet.
Yeah,
Not to blow that cast crank&piston
mind of yours Abe, the little old lady
with a plastic tube hang'n out of her
frozen nose told me different.
I've got one final point to prove that this guy doesn't know his stuff: Absolute zero is -523 degrees F. Nothing can be colder than absolute zero because at absolute zero, there is no kinetic engergy (heat) left in the atoms. All molecular movement ceases. So, -600 degrees F is not possible.
Yeah Dan,
The M22 with alloy clutch disc and alloy brakes
slow down 2950 lbs at 299mph with lots of room
to spare, the project is all Nasa ,some alloys are
soft enough to pair with hardened alloys making
it possible to run less than a 5.00 1/4 time and
brake without a chute.I ran a 3.00 gear set
and had so much top end I never got the little
4 speed out of third gear!
not only mechanics on this board but rocket science as well. I do not know rockets but I know bologna. Like lunch meat Head?
Thank you Club Hot Rod ; I love this site!!! Man-o-Man this is funnier then Abott & Castello, Laurel & Hardy, Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin, all rolled together. This guy brain...I mean head is a glutten for punishment. Now I don't now whos right but this is some funny _ _ _ _!!! This is over my head. But my sides haven't stopped hurting yet. lol   :D
Vegas
Mr.Nasa mouse!
Platinium Alloy small block with 2600 cfm.Steel alloy
diamond faced brakes and clutch disc.
Breaks a 5.00 1/4 mile.Stops without a chute!
 ....Hey Head.!!!.....Your first name wouldn't happen to be "Butt" would it.??... ....What the hay.......You are without question ..full of it....But........:whacked: .............Yeah.!!..Beam us up Scotty....Theres no sign of life here.!!...Nothing but mono lubed Johnson rods laying all over the darn place.!!!........................................................................................... ....................The guy down the hall says to mix liquid oxygen and condensed rabid weasel urine.. ......Anti knock compound he claims.....And to think I have always used boiled Panther pee.!!......Damn.!!!......:whacked: :whacked:
Aaahhhh!
The heavily rumored but rarely found 327 platinum blocks! Man that thing is worth a mint. I Have an Beryllium/Adamantium Alloy ZL1 block I will sell you.;)
It is also probably a good thing that you have those diamond plated clutch and brakes because I would think that without them, after a sub 5 second run on an ISLAND, trying to stop without a chute, you might find yourself at the bottom of the Pacific with just a set of wilwoods or something.....
I assume that with your vast ,highly technical knowledge that you are the guy the President was talking about sending to MARS?? Hope you have a nice flight...:whacked:
Dan
Diamonds? They can be used for other things than jewlry? Head can I get matching earings to go with your brake discs?
CHR should really do this more often, it certainly has livened up the joint. Is this one of those "team" tactics and is HEAD really one of our very own CHR's helping us let of a little steam?
If not, thank you HEAD for bringing a most brilliant diatribe to the forum, though I really would have liked to have been here fer Streets grand openin' Sounds like a hoot. Keep up the

PS that's too good "Diamonds are a girls best friend"
thanks BowtieGirl
what did you say this engine ran off again? i lost track between the diamonds and platinum. What am I thinking! A platnum car with diamonds? Every girls dream! Is it plutonium?
It was either bagels or LOX.
Don't let the bling bling distract you Larissa
I don't have an education! I am insulted to theink that knowledge has to come with some flippin degree! Thinking like that keep quite smart and knowledgeible peopl on the unemployment line. I have a certificate from the FAA that says I can fix anything that flys. It doesn't mean squat!
Oops Sorry, Soapbox momnet!
Not try'n to edit your comment but this webpage
will not respond with post a reply page so.......
I will use what has been provided.A parts list
is one thing you should not have need of if
you have a so called higher edytwa.Any CPA
with a degree in pinching pennies will tell you
that lack of them will impede your ability to
partake in the study of such wizardry.
