They do look good on the Firebird!!!!!!
They remind me of the cragars I had on my 68 mustang. Always liked those wheels!
I should quit looking at wheels, got too many that I like now!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Lamin8or, those tt's are what sets that firebird apart for the chaff. Very nice!
I guess that I must be hung up with that style, figure out sizes for what gives you the big thrill!!!
By the way, that is a very comfortable photo of two beautiful cars...I also noticed the classic cragars on the senior chevy.
We used those on my son's '48 pu, never a doubt as to what to use there!
Thanks for tossing that shot out there, now in my personal photo gallary!
Thanks HR Surfer,my favourite choice for that Chevy too, unfortunately they have been replaced with 17inch Fooses, still a nice wheel, but not my style,BUT it aint my car,so whatever goes.He is in the club I belong to,if ya like,I will try to find some more shots, wish I had an engine shot, sneaky little B&Mblower sitting on a stout mouse..:D
Yes,agree with the comment on the Firebird,,Russell is very particular with all his cars, will ponder for ever before he does something..That fire chicken was imported about five years ago,California car, only two owners I think, originally gold metallic, gold interior, still has ORIGINAL gold interior..
Any 17 inch or larger wheel with the thin sidewall tires look like crap on ANY car.
I used to think that til I got to really looking at some of the newer Camaro's, Mustang's, Vette's, etc. Some of the 17" to 19" wheels with the 40 to 45 series sidewalls sure do fit the wheel wells nice and offer a super wide profile without having to run a 28" tall tire that doesn't fit the wheel well.... On my 'maro, I tried one of the ZR1 replica wheels in 18X10 with a 295/45 tire, and it fit and looked great!!! It gives me a 26" diameter tire with a 10.5" footprint and fills the wheel well great!!!!
I don't like the 24" things with the rubber band tires, but I think I'm going to go with a set of 18" rears and 17" fronts.... another thing I've noticed on the 17's and 18's, it's about the only way to get a Z or W speed rated tire without having to pay $300.00 a tire.....
All depends on the style and construction of the car....I wouldn't think of putting them on a Deuce hi-boy but on other more modern cars they look great.....
A lot of things that look good on a 30's or 40's designed car would look way out of proportion on a Vette, Camaro, Mustang, or similar....and vice versa...
hmmmm... Guess I'm not putting an Escalade with fugly wheels in the same class.... But hey, if you don't like 17" and 18" wheels, then don't run them!!!!! I was merely trying to get some input as to what might look good on my 'maro, not how beemers and caddies look...I don't have one of either......
17in and 18in will look sweet mate, as the old saying goes opinions are like ......... everyone has one. I have 18in and 19in on my 69 SS RS and man they are sweet, had to have then to fit my 14in baers. Fit what you love mate.
