Placed the suspension back on this morning , then did a well deserved garage cleaning . It needs a little blue up front maybe the cross member and spindle's , or the steering linkage and sway bar .

Yeah I think the engine will fill in the color just right . Forgot to order my gasket set a few weeks back when it should have been . Well I finally got it here last night and got the crank set in . Tomorrow I can start on the pistons .

Finally got the engine block assembled and over the last couple days finished getting oil pan done . Now tomorrow when I get home after work I can get the timing cover done and its ready to set back in the frame .
This is all the blue I do need up front will pop off the frame .

Well again the brain hit me again I forgot to order my timing gear set to finish block and put it in frame .
So not to let this great sunny and raining day go to waste , I starting installing bungs for shock mounts . I have read where the welded on bung specially 1/2 " bolts bend and throw off rear end .
What I did was have some 1 1/4 " stress steel stock from Tool & Die drilled and reamed for a 5/8 bolts . This leaves a lot of meat around the bolt also , I think It should work well . I wanted them in the frame also not just welded to it like most . So this is what I did .

Looks really sturdy, Bobby. Better to err on the side of overbuilt. Bet you are getting excited to drop the engine down in there. :D

Thanks guys this is more inspiration . Been a long 2 1/2 years getting here working on the Stang too .
Tonight finished the other side and placed the shocks in .
I also ordered the timing set from summit but it is a comp cams , Once I figure out this degree stuff the gear set allows for different settings . I have a 268H 351 grind to place in this 302 .

Got the other door jamb done in 80 grit, now time to start sanding in 180 and filling little imperfections, damn it takes along time, grass to mow, kids to raise, work, just not enough time to get it all done :LOL:
