Added another one to the stable

Found another T that I couldn't refuse. This 26 Coupe will not be for keeps but for resale when Dad's 68 Camaro is finished and sold and my 27 Sedan is finished. Already have the thing built in my head and should turn out to be a pretty cool little car when its finished.
It came with two really really nice doors, frame, ford nine inch with spring, front tube axle, hairpins/radius rods, rear radius rods, spindles, and early ford juice brakes. Not sure if I will be using the frame (have to take some measurments), wont be using the tube axle but will be using the nine inch. Got a pretty good deal but it looks like I will be welding another T back together as this one is actually two different cars. Whomever cut it in half did a great job and left about four inches of extra subframe on the cowel section so that I can fine tune joining the body back as one. This one is in way better shape than my Tudor.

I have had a few T's that were cut in half, A guy I knew back in Mn has about 8 of them in his barn like that yet. They tell me it was to save space when storing the bodies.

I still have this one T Tudor cut in half. My T Coupes were not cut in half, but one of the T Coupe I have was unbolted and taken apart at the seams.
I only have one complete Coupe body (TomF is standing next to it, and my new Tudor frame hanging on the wall behind him.), one unbolted Coupe body, and one Tudor Sedan body. I am building them now. I sold 3 Coupes, and 1 Tudor Sedan, and I kick myself for not getting the complete, oem, sitting on it's wheels, T roadster from my friend before moving for $1200.00

Man Pat that coupe body looks real clean, hard to find them that nice in Ohio. That stocker sounds like that would have been a steal at that price!

They are quite compact when cut in half, it does make sense if you are limited on storage space.

32 vickey, I'll start a build thread for sure when I get working on it. Should be this coming spring so keep an eye out for it on here.

The coupe was found on craigs list by my Dad and my tudor was found at a car show. They don't seem to be too common I guess I just kind of lucked onto them.

Kind of a funny story of how I got this coupe though. I was driving back home from Cavalcade of customs in Cincy and went past the place where I could of bought a T coupe sans doors and trunk for $500 which to me would have been too much so I passed but the place reminded me that I wanted a coupe. The very next day Dad tells me about this guy who has a couple of coupe bodies for sale. Turns out the guy was pinstriping at Cavalcade and is well known around the country for his airbrush and pinstriping skills. He was friends with Roth and has done some of the striping on his cars when they were restored. Pretty interesting guy and kind of odd how the very next day of me wanting a T coupe body my Dad finds a couple of them. In less than a week I got myself a coupe body.

Looks pretty darn solid for a car pushing 90 years old! Great find.

I still need a Model A front axle. Complete would be nice, but I'll take anything.

Pat, I have a stock undropped A axle. Was going to use it on this coupe with a suicide front end but I have a chromed 37 I could use instead. Are A axles hard to find?

No, I just didn't get one before we moved from Mn, (they're all over up there)because I was going to get a complete one from bluestang67, but ran out of time before we moved. And now I'm not working and I have to get one as cheap as I can, and/or swap something for one.
Does the one you have, have any other parts with it? stock or other, Do you know about what year it came from?

Which Lynchburg, Oh do you live in? Our daughet lives in West Carrollton, which is just south of Dayton.

I live in the Lynchburg that is between Cincinnati and Columbus and about just as close to Dayton as the other two citys. Bought the coupe in Dayton...
The axle still has stock spindles and brakes along with the tie rod. I used the wishbone on my hot rod and the spring and perches were no good. I can send some pics your way Friday if you want.

Thomas, what a trip.. I used to go to Columbus every year, to Watkins memorial High Shool, to cover a VW event held every year there. I have a good friend in Dayton (Centreville, actually, if you ever see a black 1967 Bug with Centerline wheels, and an upholstered piece covering the luggage area between the rear seat and the engine firewall, save your fuel... that's where the TO-3 Turbo and the Holley 4 barrel hide.... street driven 11s....and another great friend of mine has a body shop in Cincy, on Montgomery street, right across from the Jewish Cemetary, works on high-end German stuff, Porsche, Mercedes, one HELL of a metal master this guy is...I've been through Lynchburg I don't know how many times, driving from Cincy to Dayton, or Columbus to Cincy...
Good luck with the coupe, looks like the body is quite a bit nicer than the Tudor you've been working on...but for some strange reason, I'm partial to the Tudors...:toocool:

Wow Dave, I can't believe that someone actually knows where Lynchburg is! If you go through the whole town then more than likely you have been past my house. It is quite a drive to all three citys, Cincy being the closest by a sliver. I know exactly the area you are talking about where your buddys body shop is, next time I'm out that way I'll keep my eyes open to see if I can spot some european cars being worked on... Cincy and Dayton have quite a big vw scene too, I used to go to some of the meets with my daily. It too is a turbocharged bug but not the cool one (I'll make a note not to race a black bug in Dayton :eek: ) but a 2000 1.8T.

Pat, I'll get some pics your way tomorrow. Not sure what I would want for it, I was going to sell the extra parts on ebay and keep the axle. I have a lot of various parts I need for my Ts and you mentioned you might be interested in a trade of some sort. When you get the pics you can decide if it is something you would be interested in and we can go from there :) It seems to be in good shape, I bought it off of a guy who brought it from out west so it is not pitted much if any.

I'm coming out your way again in June (twice this year already but not close enough), maybe I can tie that T radiator and shell on my motorcycle - I'm too cheap to mail it.

Tom That jerk that bought my house kept my T frame (and a lot of other things) that I had next to the shed. do you happen to have a extra set of front fender brackets laying around in your way?

To bad I'm a nice guy, or when I went back for my mom's funeral, I would have beaten him with sawed off broom handles! :mad: The neighbors don't like him, the two on each side of him, have called the cops on him for his outside activities, and dope smoking, and the people across wish he'd just move away. :LOL:
