WOW did directions come in that box?? post up the second picture a little bigger...can't quite get a good enough look at it!
Just connect the dots! Seriously looking good.
Oh, it's one of those "kit" cars! Very ambitious project and it looks like you are over the hump now. Post up some bigger pictures, would love to see more.
Don
This is a car that I bought sight unseen.
Yes it is an ambitious project, but we're making good progress!
Here's a few pics:
Looks like your off to a good start. Those body panel patches are above my skill level, but it will be very cool when your done to have an original 33 American Austin!
Keep posting pics, this will be a great thread to follow.
What a cool little body style; what are your drivetrain plans?
Drive train?
- 450HP Ford 351W
- Custom built C4 Trans
- Ford 9" posi
Yeah...it's a bit too much power but that's one of my faults.
We're planning a 2.5" chop. Something like this:
Is that proper door gap??? Lol. J/K nice find and good job.
That's going to be killer; make sure you keep posting pics. Great job so far!
At least it was only one box, it could be worse!! I like it, how many years had they been in business when that was made?
Actually it was 2 boxes and NO directions!
I can't say that I know much about the American Austin other that in England it was called an Austin 7 because it had only 7 HP.
Apparently cars were taxed on HP so the Austin 7 was a way to minimize taxes.
Don't let our government get any ideas.
Anybody know how many were produced?
Actually, our goverment already had that idea! That's why 428 CJ's and the like were "ONLY" rated at 335 hp. All the manufacturers were "under rating" the horsepower numbers, the government was investigating taxable horsepower but realized enforcement was going to be miserable. :whacked:
I'd question the reliability of the Austins 7 horsepower number.:HMMM:
BTW, Your car is going to be awesome! Great Job so far! Keep up the good work! :3dSMILE:
Topless in progress: 2 1/2" chop
