Torque Converters..Whazzat?...
What is a torque converter and how do they work (for 23t)?

Basically a torque convertor is a fluid clutch. It is like a manual trans, except it has a certain rpm that it fully engages to the trans. A stall convertor is a torque convertor with a higher rpm to lock up. Street machines generally have a stall to allow the engine power band to come in before the vehicle moves to increase launch and traction.
