Brought the 34 Coupe Home.

I brought home the 34 5 window coupe yesterday. The owners wife was a little sad to see it go but happy it's going to good home. They had owned it since 1958.

I'm green with envy. It looks even better in the sunlight than in the earlier pictures you posted a while back. That car is NICE, and it certainly has a history to it which makes it even cooler.

Great car . My father in law was talking today of having a accident in a 34 cpe and him and his dad went to the salvage yard grabbed a axle and wish bone and the car was driving again .

This is one lucky find unless you knew them before . He had a nice collection and knew it was all a investment for his wife Great Man .

Those pictures of your '34 coupe brought back fond memories of my '34 Fordor when I first built it up in '62. I notched my firewall and put the battery in the same place as your's is, also I drove around with the hood off just so show off my cammed '48 Merc. My motor was painted red and had chrome "acorns", I even polished the top of the radiator.

Just in case you would rather have a '26 T coupe instead of the '34, I'd trade ya even up:LOL::whacked:

Thanks guys! I'm have been waiting for this car all my life. I have to thank my friend Jay for letting me know about it.

My plans are just cleaning it up and getting it drivable for now. The interior needs to be finished and a few other small thing. I do have a built '48 59AB engine with Offy heads, 2X2 manifold and headers I will drop in later. But right now just get it back on the road. :D

What a great car. And the owner had it for over 40 years. It has cleanned up nicely. Will keep an eye on progress. Again a nice coupe a good buy...

Traded my 38 Chevy Cab, grille and front fenders for this 29/30 Model A. Cowl is 30/31 and rear is 29. The 29 cowl was not is very useable condition. The top was long gone so now it's a Roadster. The A frame and front axle/bones I had. I'll use one of my Mercury Fatheads in this one.

Ok, now we officially really hate you. :D Holy cow is that thing cleaning up great or what? Just an unbelievable find, especially that it is an old hot rod. It's in the right hands too, looks like you will do the old gal right. She deserves all the best.

I got it running today! Sort of! It will start after I changed the leaking fuel pump on the 21 stud engine but it wont stay running. I'm going to swap the carb from the '48 59AB engine and see if will keep running. Next, bleed the bakes and check front wheel bearings, trans and rear fluid and see if will drive!

It is looking good and I agree, leave the slight damaged paint as it adds to the beauty of the car and its history. I hope you can get it running by just changing the carb, but ,man that built flatty will look cool in her engine bay too...If you find you haven't the time for that '29-30-31 roadster letz us know and I find room in my workshop for it...:):):)

Sorry I forgot to ask, are you going to run with the bumpers on the '34 as they look in really good condition in some of the photos.????

Yes, he had a brand new set of repro bumpers with brackets and everything. I found one set of original bumper guards but will not use them as they won't match the condition of the new bumpers.

I'll bet you just sit in the garage sometimes, staring at this car and pinching yourself to see if it is really yours. I would be beside myself if that were mine. You are so very lucky to have scored such a great car in the shape it is in. Wow.:):) I can't get enough of looking at your pictures.

Wow that really cleaned up excellent. The old and new flatties both look great!
I remember when I fired up my truck right after I bought it, it had been sitting 7 years unstarted. I was so extcited it ran , I thought put it in drive and drive it into the garage! Only then did I discover, no brakes!:LOL::CRY:
Got it stopped about an inch from hitting something! Glad your doing the brakes next!:cool:
