Car show today in Covington, Wa.

Here are some pics of a show in Covington, Wa. that the MRS and I attended. Maybe some day my coupe will be back on the road so we can actually participate. And yes, that is our own Uncle Bob with his 36. That is the MRS posing with the 30s ply. Wish it was ours.

I tried to get someone to take a pic with me next to their rod but no one wanted me near their pride and joy. BTW, uncle Bob won a trophy for knowing the names of the most obscure bands from the 70s.

Thanks for the photos Jack and congratulate Uncle Bob on his win for us please. If I was one of the judges with the difficult job of picking the top car, my vote would of gone to the '27 T Tudor, it has that WOW FACTOR but off course that is just my humble opinion.

Jack's a bit of a joker....................I won just what I deserved...........bupkus!

We had a pretty good turnout considering we had to change locations at practically the last minute. One of the things this group does is distribute "People's Choice" ballots for 10 entries per. The results, naturally, are based solely on what people value in an old car. That T sedan presented very well and was one of the 10 acknowledged. The car I thought was the "best" one there didn't even make the cut. But then I'm into subtle, which isn't often noticed by "the people". My favorite was a '62 Impala with big hoops, flawless black paint and bodywork, tasteful interior................it oozed detail in execution throughout. It's not the kind of car I would personally own, but the guys attention to detail was fantastic and the proportions were very nice. Fortunately this club doesn't play silly games where a mediocre car will "win" a trophy because the owner is "politically" connected within the group. It's just a nice, laid back group and event.

Hey Bob,I am glad that everything turned out OK. Yes I known what you are saying but I 'm glad that the T made top 10. Another car that I liked was the 5 window '36 as ,like you, I like the detail of the complete car and not so much as "who has the largest cheque book to buy the big,blown,shiny motor". I done think we have many 5 window coupes down here compared to the three window.('36). It sounds as if everybody had a good day so cheers both you and Jack for posting.

PS just looking through those photos again and two have me stumb on what make they may be... 1st is the mid 40's tudor that looks like from the GM family... 2nd is the redish coupe of about the same age and again from the GM family but both have different grilles and trim finishers on the front, and are they very rare even over there???

Thanks for the comments. There were many more cars there than shown, I will post some more when I get the time. The Mrs and I both liked that 36 5 window, the color was fantastic, however I had to Photo Shop the photo to get that color. The color in the photo I think is pretty close to actual but the color was washed out to nearly white as downloaded from the cam.

Nice pics,Jack..That blue sedan your Mrs is standing next to is kool,even got a CORRECT engine,too.....That T sedan is what I am wanting to do with ours,,when its time comes around..not black though..Nice selection of different cars there,too,like the goat also..koop looks good uncle Bob..

I'm going to have to check the production numbers on '35's somewhere because it seems like all the ones I see are 2 and 4 door sedans for the most part. I went to NSRA York a couple weekends ago and there were a lot of '35 sedans there.
