I was just wondering if this color combination would look good on any truck that's slightly older ( pre 80's). Have a black and white truck, a white engine block ( block, balancer, intake... ) but have the valve covers, air cleaner, water pump, fuel pump, radiator and spark plug wires black. Does this sound like a cool paint job or a fugly paint job?
Might be hard to keep a white engine white with heat-oil-road grime n'stuff.Quote:

Black and white go good together. It's more of a commercial truck color combo except for the engine. It would probably look good but it's hard to keep a white engine clean. I like my rides a little more colorful. Maybe a two tone maroon or light and dark blue. and lots of pinstripin.
I was thinking about the cleaning effort involved. Would it look as equally cool with a black engine and white accents?Quote:

Well the biggest prob I see with that is keeping the engine block WHITE....... I've got one thats yellow and it's hard as heck to keep clean....... In the Sedan Delivery it's all black with chrome goodies:3dSMILE:Quote:

It would look fairly cool but it would be almost impossible to keep it looking good. My uncle painted his impalas 307 sb lime green and painted all the accessories gloss black with green plug wires. He spent hours cleaning and washing it before going to a show with it.
I likes color to but, I was flippin through my summit and found the engine paints and found white, I have never heard of nor seen a white engine so, my light bulb kicked on and I got thinking about it but, I'm really just exploring my options and, I'm just getting opinions. I do agree that Black and White is more of a commercial vehicle color scheme and now that I think about it, Ewww, But I may do that color scheme on my dirt bike ( I want it to look dirty:whacked: ). 2 tone maroon actually, sounds good.Quote:

MrMopar64, I do agree that lighter colors show dirt better and faster than darker colors.
I almost forgot to say thanks to all who who gave me opinions but, please feel free to keep them comming.
How about a black and red or blue combo? seems a little easier to keep clean to me.
Hey, I had a friend paint his 360 all white with the balancer,oil pan, and intake being black :HMMM: and yes it did look pretty good on the stand, but by the time he got it in his truck he had to clean it like crazy and now that it has been in his ride for awhile the whole block looks yellowish-brown. So now its a chromed up dirty engine. Also remember wash your hands before you touch it :3dSMILE: If you end up doing it though, don't paint your intake black or use red wires lol, you wont like it.
Yep, I'm deffinetly holding out on the white on black scheme.I'm probably going to paint It Chevy colors.colors, because they look the nicest and they are the easiest to clean. What about Chevy Corprate blue and chrome?
I've got a blue Chevy crate engine in my dump truck with chrome stuff on it My other two Chevy powered cars are Chevy orange with chrome. The orange looks much better. Ford blue on a Chevy engine would look better than the pale blue Chevy uses now.
Now that I think about it, Chevy Orange looks much better than blue. Although Ford Blue does look good, The whole truck will be Aquamarine in color ( going original colors ) and, it woulden't look to hot with blue, in my oppinion.
Matt definitely go with the orange. I had a friend who went with the white and had to pull the engine and repaint it got so dirty.
Yep, I think it's cheaper too, the white is 5 somthin a spray can in Summit and, Duplicolor Chevy orange is $3.88 a spray can at Wal*Mart.
