Custom T/A Hood.

I have a 1979 trans am with a 400 big block engine in it and i am swapping it out for an olds 455 and it has the 79 shaker hood on it, but i had an idea that i thought would not only look great but function. I wanted to somehow put formula ram air scoops in the hood. Im not sure if you can buy them and have the hood cut and insert them etc..i dont know where to look but i did find a picture of kind of what im talking about, but kind of like they just put a shaker into a formula hood ha. Any ideas????

I don't know of a company making the scoops aftermarket, maybe try a google search for 79 Formula hood? If you can't come up with an aftermarket scoop then start hitting the junkyards, eBay, Craigslist, etc. and see if someone might have a used pair for sale, or a hood that still has them on?? Probably going to take some searching to find a pair!

the formula hood was smc from gm??? cut it out put a shaker in it that was done back in 1981 guy i knew did it

on my 87 formula I made a shaker and instead of scoops I put some louvers. I had to make the shaker big for the 2x4sAttachment 50682
