Well summer is coming here I turned out to be a doors open and sun shine kinda guy. But it's always summer there , just the winter grumpy neighbors .
Sunday was 70's here tinkered in both the garages till the wife caught me for some yard clean up .
Hi guys...back again, somehow managed to get myself caught up with my daughter`s house renovations, its almost done, Randy you`re doing great with the trunk lid, now maybe I can get back to my own projects.....:whacked: I`m so far behind not sure where to start.
Hey Rich! Good having you back! Got the house all fixed up and back to some Hot Roddin'???
The son inlaw got in over his head with the amount of work he was going to do, I knew it before he started, but I didnot want to step in until he asked for help.....knocking out walls and installing new beams...LOL It took five bodies to set that beam up...now he`s down to paint and hard wod flooring.
No couldn't sneak away at all . She had me in her sites waiting for me to close the garage doors LOL .
HHAAA she said I was to old and it would sag , I sad then it will sag with me . Then it will look like a swooped down hot rod LOL .
Just sent Randy an CL ad, for a `37 deck lid, picture included, looks good for $150. he`s gonna be pissed...
Geat Randy, just happened to run across it by accident, thought you might want it or not just another option. Was that frog town...?
Angel`s camp, Pete Paulson ( from the TV series Laughin during the 70`s ) lives there I believe, he hosts rod events there on his property, they also host the frog jump festival there every year thus frog town....
Yeah he will if its a clean lid , but they are few and in between . I shop a lot and spot less at that age is rare . .
On a different note I am adding one to the garage . The buy is so low I won't even tell you till I have it here . LOL . A 69 Cougar Convertible been stored a long time . It has it's issues but will be very rebuild able to cruise in .
351 W , 9 inch couldn't see the trans hope it's a C-4 .

Bobby I looked at a `69 couger X-code 428 / c6 about six years ago, should of bought it, price was $3200, maroon/black vinyl top, just didnot have room..
Ok Pete Paulson, I was confused...... and besides he`s in French camp, not to far from there...
Well, you're still confused. It's Pat, not Pete....LOL! Pat Paulsen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I`ve got a real bad case of sciatic going on right now, and too many vicadin and IBprofen ......:whacked:
Rich I am picking this up for $750 it was driven in and shut off many years ago . I work with this guy and he has been asking me to take it for a few years .
Rich know this back feeling from the inside .
Cool Bobby, how`s the other half liking this...
sounds like "ain't nobody feelin' no pain!":LOL::LOL:Kenny Chesney & Kid Rock - LuckenBach Texas ( with Lyrics ) - YouTube
Well I am slipping it by her real slow , I think she knows it's coming home .
I know this one Randy .
Been dealing with this sinse I was 19, not to bad at first, slowly gets worse and longer incidents as I age, retired in Feb 1st second day into retirement it kicked in hard, might have to have something done...:eek::eek:
I used to have a few issues with the sciatic nerve in my right leg until it was suggested that I include the adductor & abductor machines in my leg workouts at the gym. I had always thought those particular machines were for girls. However, I found out that when I started using then, the sciatic pain went away & never returned. Yay!!!
Since there are now at least three conversations going on here:LOL:
Bobby - if it has a 351W, there is a chance that car has an FMX transmission as FoMoCo thought the C4 wasn't tough enough for the bigger engine. Of course, it could be a C6............nah

Well, Mike, these aren't great pics but I got the patching of the "no" rust finished and started working on smoothing out the "no" dents that were hiding under the "no" bondo.:mad::LOL: I sprayed it with a rattle can guide coat so I can sorta see my progress. I still have a ways to go but it's far better than it was. A skim-coat of filler on this would be way thinner than what it had!!

Also after using the heat gun to dig out more of the old undercoating, etc that was slathered on the inside of the tailpan, I'm convinced this tailpan has been replaced before. The inner tool compartment seems to be in pretty good shape but this outer skin has to come out for sure. Need to get a spot-weld cutter to drill out the welds on the bottom edge. Then I'll be able to develop a plan of attack....:HMMM:

Great progress Randy, deck lid looks 1000% better!!!!
Yup, 1000%!!! Just goes to show that patience and perseverance will win out over a lumpy piece of sheet metal every time!!!! Congrats on a job well done, Randy!
Nice job Randy....you can come and work on mine now...I`ve got a little work on the lower trunk area I need to redo.
Thanks, Rich. This is definitely a "learn-as-I-go" situation when it comes to this metal work stuff. Who woulda thunk that purchasing a little mig welder a few short years ago would lead to all this!:LOL:
When my dad & I built this car the first time back in the day, I was the "idea man" and he was the resourceful fabricator, but neither of us knew much about body work or welding sheet metal. We didn't have access to great sources of info, knowledge & experience then, which always reminds me of how thankful I am for this site and a few others and all you guys who are willing to share what you've learned & done along the way!! I would have never tackled this stuff without you guys!!! So, if it turns out good, you can all take some credit for it!:D:D And if it turns out bad, you're gonna have to help me fix it!!!:LOL:
Well, Rich, I knew there was no reason to get pissed prematurely....:) The guy just called me and the lid is for a flat back. He says it has no rust, includes the handle & latch but it has been bumped at the handle so it needs some body work there. Sounds like it would be a good deal for somebody with a flat back, which is not me.... But it's good that all my efforts fixing this lid are not in vain....:3dSMILE:
Here's the ad if somebody needs it 1937 Ford 4 dr.rear doors and deck lid He's got both back doors & the deck lid for $150. He also said the '36 flat back in the pic will be for sale soon.
Bobby, you probably need yet another project, right?:LOL::LOL:
