Studebaker-Westinghouse
I thought this was cool; in 63 the Westinghouse Appliance Division contracted with Studebaker to build them a user specific fleet of service vehicles. They wanted something resonably priced that would be a Westinghouse only vehicle. Studebaker came up with a simple cab over pickup and a van design. One of each was built as a prototype but Studebaker went belly up before they could start building them. This is the last Studebaker truck they ever designed. This truck was a supposed barn find that ended up in a museum and they dont know what happened to the van. I thought building a replica of this on a Dakota chassis would be cool.

Never even heard about these animals before!!!! I can see it now with a hemi in the back and standing on the back tires!!!!!

Can't say they spent a lot of time refining the design! That thing's boxy!!

We had similar vehicles where I worked made by Taylor Dunn. Neat thing about T/Ds was the rearends were 9" fords.

This could be a real fun build ... Mostly straight panels.... Flat glass .. no chrome ..straight axle if you choose ..
Do you have any other pics or specifications ?

Yeah, one of the sites I Googled gave the wheelbase, height, and a few other dimensions. There's only a few sites that had any info on it. I think it'd be a cool build, too. Might have to put that in my "to be done" pile.
Dave, you'd almost need a Hemi to make this thing move; the wind resistance has to be pretty severe!

It reminds me of the newer Fire trucks ! Wonder where they got thier styling from ?
