1956 GMC Build
The digital cameras sure do help you see what you ?have? or ?have not? accomplished on your Toys.
OH WELL, Slowly but Surely, as they say !
Had the truck a little over a year but with the Wiffy's surgeries/health plus the move to another home, I haven't made the progress I would have liked to.
However, I'm pleased with it so far but there's lots to do and a long ways to go.

Thanks gents ! Dave, I need to get, some seat belts installed, the brake pedal shortened about 3 or 4 inches so I can get my long skinny leg in between the pedal pad and the gear shift knob and then I think I'm gonna drive it some and enjoy it. However, I will be doing something about the low farm gears in the rear end before long also. Right now it's just short trips to the store, local cruises and my two sons houses but I hope to make it a dependable long hauler someday. At least it will last me the rest of my life for sure.
Robin, I don't think this sixer could leave a mark unless I slammed on the brakes.
I drive'm like they were made outa glass anyhow.

WOW, Super Clean Truck there Mello! It looks like fun 8-)
-
Correct on the camera they are great for finding the next project. I like the way you did the motor, being partial to blue you get two thumbs up there also. Better get seat belts we don't want the MellowYello bumping all over in the cab.:D
Thanks very much for the shots of your truck, enjoyed seeing it.

What a neat old truck......ya done good.

Nice spruce up on a clean ol' truck.....

The clean up under the hood looks great, and I like the change on the instrument panel insert, too! When you do your seat belts it would be great if you can find a good solid mount for a third point shoulder belt. Makes all the difference in the world on protecting aging bones!
One question, what's the silver knob/switch to the left of the radio? Almost looks like an ignition switch, but that seems to be over under the gauge panel, lower right of the steering wheel. Just curious....

:o:o Roger, I think that is the heater switch but I'm not real sure :o:o- - - - a friend of mine rewired it and made some changes. It had a starter button which he changed over to a regular ignition switch and the wiring was pretty bad so he updated everything he could without butchering it too much. Good point on the three point but it will have to be attached to the inside metal cab shell which should be ok - - all I'll have to move is the roof insert so I can get a nut and wrench on the mounting bolt.
