1934 3 window ford body ID

I am hoping to ID this body for many reasons, first being so I can buy a metal windshield frame for it. I am thinking an old Gibbon or downs. It has metal structure in the cowl, but I haven't pulled any interior to look at the hinge posts for the doors. If the pics can't positively ID the body, if anyone knows something I can look at specifically that will give a clue.

I can get you pics of a 33/34 Gibbons (serial 12 or 14?) and some of late model Downs roadsters and cabrille---but will be later today and will take some time for me to downsize to be able to post here---------

Could be a Gibbon, based on the pictures at their current website.

Downs went out of business and sold their molds to a new owner.

Not sure it matters, since most brands don't offer a ready-made windshield frame. If would probably have to be custom made, from the windshield or the hardboard pattern for it.

Williams street rods makes one for the gibbons body. I'd rather go that route than getting a bare one, chopping it and then having it chromed.

I've got an early 80's Gibbons body, no metal inside anywhere. and the firewall doesn't look like that one, especially the left side. But it could be a late 80's or 90's body... I used an original henry windshield frame and hinges.

Just a thought, but why not simply look at your Gibbons & Downs bodies, compare to his photos and say yes or no like Mike did? Seems a lot more efficient, especially considering how difficult it is for you to resize your pictures.

That's good to know! Let us know how it actually fits after you get it in. Are you going to have it operational, will it open / close?

After speaking with Williams on the phone I realized they have a metal trim for a glue in windshield. I was looking for a frame, so I think I will end up with a cut down mr roadster frame. I do not think I will make it operational, as I plan to drive the car in cool weather and rain.

From experience, having the windshield tilt out at the bottom would be super cool, and having that along with a crank down back window would be the pinnacle of cool! Rolling down the highway with side windows down is great, but some flow through would be a great addition. I wouldn't think that getting the windshield to seal against rain would be too much of a problem, but then I've not done it so I can't really offer anything on approach. I'll look forward to your progress, and hope you'll post as you go along!
