A nice 60 deg Sunday in Feb, what do you do? You haul out the RC cars from the basement of course :D My 14 yr old boy and I had a good time racing these guys today. One thing about RC's is you need an ample supply of parts to keep going. I lost a control arm bushing early on and that was a quick fix. My boy twisted off an axle about a half hour later so we called it quits. Had a fun time in the middle of winter, supposed to be in the 20's again later this week.

his was back in the 80's, when those "cars" first came out. 2 channel radio and hours of fun.:LOL:
They have come a long ways from the 80's with the brushless motors, but now other things break:LOL: This one here is my pride and joy, it wouldn't have been fair to Christian to race this one though:D . Since 40FordDeluxe won't give me his 72 K30 I had to buy my own:LOL:
I've got an old RC10 out in the shop that I converted to a monster truck for my son many years ago. It was fun, but the batteries back then didn't last very long. I'll bet the new generation of batteries last longer before needing a charge.
Yes, with the Lipo batteries, we can run about 45 min give or take on one charge with the two wheel drive car. The nice thing is that they never slow down, they just quit when they are dead. They are more maintenance but worth it.Quote:

The electric cars are much more reliable compared to gas, but the gas performance is dramatically better.
I had a Nitro gas Rustler like the ones pictured and my middle boy has a Nitro T Maxx . If tuned right the nitro can really fly and usually take the battery on the top end, and I love the way they sound. I just got sick of trying to keep my nitro tuned in so I went to batteries, but my boy loves messing with the Nitro. If I put a 3s battery in my C10 4x4 Stampede I can keep up with his nitro for quite awhile. They are both a lot of fun.Quote:

Your right, buying parts is a big part of it and sometimes I just have to put them away because enough is enough. As I learn how to drive them better I go through less parts though. Seeing how high we can climb up the trunk of a cotton wood tree and barrel rolling them down the driveway because of going too fast doesn't help the situation though.:LOL:
