Agreed, charity shows are OK....as long as the charity isn't the promoter's pocket!! Some of the best shows
are relatively laid back....like the one in Lake Havasu City. No trophies, no judging, no nuttin. As shows get
bigger, their expenses skyrocket...venue rental, printing, security, etc are big costs that we can all agree on.
However, squeezing your reason that people come seems silly. IF no cars show up, how long will that show
last? Around here, a show entry is $25 to $35 with a spectator entry at $5 to $10. Again, if it is a charity (especially for kids), I don't mind the $25 entry. Don't forget the "goodie bag"..... I usually give some kid the bag since I have
never found anything inside worth carrying home....not even the "free" t-shirt with crappy advertisements on them.
