What a difference 32 years makes. I took the ’71 out this morning to a men’s prayer time at church and when I came out I saw this - my ’71 and Pastor Steve’s 2003 Silverado. Both great looking trucks and he uses his to haul a 32’ camping trailer but I am drawn to the ’71 - which has been a workhorse in its own right over the years but I “retired” the ol’ gal a few years ago and now I enjoy cruising with the windows down and love the nods and thumbs up I get almost every time we go out. I love the bench seat when Joanie come along as she still snuggles up next to me and feel like we’re 30 something for a while. I’ll still go to Home Depot and throw a board or a sack of potting soil in the bed but no more loading to the top or dump runs. I think she’s paid her dues.
