Very nice work Dave.
starting to collect parts, have running gear.body parts hard to find.its a 1928 chevy p/u.using studebaker v-8 w/mustang 5-speed trans, dana rear. will send pictures as soon as i figure this picture thingy out.do not know weither to run straight axle or modern front end,the stude is a really heavy engine 780 pounds.
Certainly will be a unique combination for a Hot Rod, stude!!!!! Hope you get the picture deal working, I'd explain it to you but you'd probably end up more confused then you are now about how to post them!!!! Guess I'm not much of a 'puter guy....
And thank you, Mr. Smith... How's your project coming along? Finally getting most of "that other shop's" boo-boo's fixed up so I can get on with finishing the car...
Lookin' good Dave. Your doin' some nice work there.
Only time for work here lately.
Dave I got my hidden hinges, bare claw latches, Frenched license plate and fuel door all installed. So that I think will be it for my body fabrication. Unless I get really gutsy and try to widen my rear fenders a few inches. I have been slinging mud for the last couple of weeks. Back 25 years when I did that for a living I was pretty good at it. I lost my touch and it isn't as easy now. And bondo is a heck of a lot more expensive then I remember too. I am in Washington and it is actually cheaper for me to order it from Virginia and pay the shipping then to buy it hear.
Hotrodstude if you have pics on your computer and know how to find them then do not use the quick reply window but rather use the ( Post Reply ) button just above it and you will find a place down that page to attach pics. Good luck I had to have someone tell me that as well.
Dave, I want to apologize in advance for stealing your induction design. I've got to build something like that on my Plymouth.
Started final fitting and putting some paint on the Plymouth. Hope the pics show the color ok, it's a Chrysler color called Sunburst orange. Fenders will be a dark copper Ford color, a very subtle color change from the primary, a couple steps darker is all... Lots and lots of small parts to smooth, prime, wet sand and block, very time consuming..
I like the color, it reminds of the color of the 68 Charger I once owned.
I didn't like it at first, but it really grows on you... The pics don't really do it justice, looks a heck of a lot better after the cut and buff... I think the '36 is going to be a really classy looking car with this color, black rubber running boards, chrome reverse wheels with baby moon hub caps. Turning out to be one of my favorite builds, and I don't even like big sedans!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
It looks great Dave!
That may be the color I was thinking of painting my 36. Is that the color I see on some new Dodge trucks as well? I was thinking of having that color on top and bottom and a cream color in the middle. But I am at least 4 or 5 months away from paint so I may change my mind at least 10 times before then.
