Wow! A lot of folks come to Memphis to see Graceland (some are trying to spot Elvis), listen to some good blues music, eat the best pork barbecue in the world, and... well, I’ve just never heard of anyone coming from as far away as Boston looking for a good body shop!!! Is there a serious problem in Boston with the body shops????
Anyway, what type of “custom” work are you needing done?
I’m on my way out of town for a few days and will not have access to a computer until probably Tuesday. Send me an e-mail and let me know what your needs are, and I’ll try to hook you up with the right shop. danjones@caroma.net
But hey, you’ve got to reply to this post and let everyone know why the heck you’re willing to travel from Boston to Memphis for bodywork.

Check out Darwin's Hot Rod Shop in Jonesboro, AR. About an hour from the I55 bridge over the big river. (870) 932-3667 / http://www.geocities.com/dhrsinc/ . He has cars from St Louis and Dallas in his shop right now. If it was worth a long trip for them it should be worth a trip from Boston for you.Last edited by Bib_Overalls; 06-27-2004 at 05:27 AM.

Although my profile says that I live in Boston, I actually live in Boston and Memphis. I work in Boston but my family lives in Memphis - it's a long story but I basically fly back and forth. My car, however, is in Memphis.
I doing a full on custom job on a 62 Mercury Meteor- nosed, decked and shaved, new motor, suspension, interior etc. I have no experience but I am learning. I have a father in law who is helping me - he has lots of experience when it comes to the mechanical part. Neither of us know anything about bodywork, however, so we thought we would strip the car down to the body and send it out for the bodywork.
Any other suggestions in Tennessee, Arkansas and North Mississippi or North Alabama would be great.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
