i just got my cutlass running

I just got my cutlass running the other night after a long hiatus. I had had a cracked head and replaced the heads and needed a new flywheel, so put in a new converter and some other stuff here and there. Anyways. I'm gonna take her to the track this week and run her. I want to run it now with the gears it has and see how much of a difference the new gears make. I wanted to get an idea on what you guys think i might run.

It's a 1988 Olds Cutlass
350 sbc
350 turbo transmission
stock bottom end
64cc 350 heads with 2.02/1.60 manley valves
crane hydraulic with a duration of 228° at.50,480 lift
harland sharp aluminum 1.6 roller rockers(giving me a valve lift of .512)
2800 stall converter
b&m stage 1 and 2 shift kit
edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold and 650 performer carb
accel distributor with accel hei ignition module, rotor, cap, coil, wires, plugs
2.56 limited slip rear

about 3700 lbs with me in it.

I'm just trying to get some ideas and maybe some ideas of what you think i'll run when i put the 3.73 gears in. Thanks

I think those high gears are gonna hurt a lot, Probably go through the lights in 2nd. Torque converter will help you get moving, but I will be conservative and guess mid 15s. You don't mention what tires you have. The 3.73s should drop you well into the 14s.

I think Streets was just messing with ya, as he is known to do. I made my estimate based on similar cars I have known. I suggest you try it with and without the slicks, and use the shortest tire you can until you can make the gear swap. Also for long term plans you might think about an overdrive tranny. A 200R4 would give you lower 1st and 2nd gears and then still give you good cruising RPM in OD. They are plenty strong enough as they came in the Turbo Buick Grand Nationals. I suggest the 200R4 instead of the 700 because they are the same length as the T350 and you don't have to cut your shaft or change your yoke.

Get the Gtec pro 2 ( the new 1 ) and run your car through those test's, should give a good estimate.
