My Falcon Arrived today

At around 2:30 my car arrived on the rollback free of charge from the guy I got it from. Interior is good with only slight wear/ tearing on drivers side bottom, 48,000 miles ( told was original ). I have to ajust the shift linkage because it's not right in park, it sometimes jumps into reverse and the lever is a little loose and that might be part of the problem, no biggy. Raido/ heater washers and wipers all work, not shure if the gas gauge is working or not because I don't know how much gas is left in the tank. I did take a pic and here it is. Oh, if anybody didn't see my other post's that said I had it, it's a '67 Falcon Futura with a 2spd Crusomatic.

Tech, does that mean I might need to get a new coloum or get the old repaird?

I'll check that out, I'll also check the linkage ajustment. It seems that there might be too much play in the shifter linkage going to the trans and then have my dad check it. If you just put it into park than, it will jump out eventully if it's revved but if you move it up just passed park then back into park it won't jump out. I may just live with it this way until I have money to fix it correctly but if my dad says it's too bad then, theres no choice, I have to get it fixed. It's just going to be a daily driver anyway.

Oh yeah, I will be getting a service manual.

Nice old Falcon Matt. It might just need new bushings in the shifting linkage.
I have a Falcon parts catalog that has them listed for $2.00 for a pair. They have a website at www.autokrafters.com You should get one of their catalogs. They have all kinds of parts for your car at reasonable prices.

So Matt. What type of flames are you going to paint on it? :3dSMILE:

Good looking car there Matt. Looks better than mine since yours is actually TOGETHER. lol Looks pretty clean and not much rust besides the rocker panels and such down below. Do you plan on fixing anything up or upgrading anything or just leaving it the way it is and drive it?

Don't know what flames would look good?, I'll order a catalog. I don't think it was a bad deal for $500 and delivered free and it only needs a master cylinder and supposadly an alternator or regulator but I tested it and it seems fine, I had a testor connected to the wire that came of the alt and to the regulator on the inner fender and the other end to the neg on the batt. when the engine idled, the alt light was on but when it was revved, it went out. when the testor is unplugged, the alt light dosen't come on, bad regulator maby?

Rocker panals are the panals just below the doors which is perfect on both sides. your talking about the front 1/4's which I will fix. The rear 1/4's need a little bit also. I'm going to drive it and fix it at the same time but mostly just a drive and restore.

I wouldnt reccomend flames on that. 4 doors dont look good with flames usually. a nice simple paint job with a nice set of mags usually does it. Remember, High metallic black is Always nice.

I was really joking about flames, I'll keep it white for now but I'll fix the 1/4's and just prime the area and maby paint it with a rattle can paint white and steel wool the paint so it's no longer shiney to match.

Ok I see what your saying. I thought it went all the way back there for a second because the color shade changes and the door gap there at the bottom...

Have fun with your new driver, Matt. Looks like a decent car, should make a good driver for you.

Nice looking falcon Matt. You'll have fun driving and fixiing it up as needed. I would keep it white since it looks so nice on your car.

Looks like your Falcon is a decent car, Matt, especially for what you paid. You know of course, down the road you could put just about any Ford motor you want in there!
