I was wondering if a bellhousing from a 440 motor would bolt to a 360 4 speed tranny so i could put a 4 speed onto my 440?

NO
bellhouosings for mopar (chrysler plymouth dodge) either bolt onto big blocks or small blocks. 440. 426, 413, 400, 383 -all big blocks LA small blocks: 273, 318, 340, 360 check ebay for bellhousings
if the truck came with a small block then you will need different engine mounts and a k member -try schumacher
Greymouser, I think you missed the question. 440 Dodge is asking if the trans will bolt to a big block bellhousing.
I don't know Mopars enough to answer his question.
Double check the 360 bell housing the last two Perkins diesel swaps I did with 360 gas engines shared the big block bell pattern. Wait a minute, this post is three years old...???????
LOL ,he can sell the bus pass and put the tranny in now:LOL:
I have seen people reply after a old post ,it goes to thier e-mail if its the same......
Yeah, Nitro, I saw it was an old post and I didn't think any one had stopped to read it. I really think by what he is asking that he wanted to put a 4 speed stick from a 360 truck with 4th being OD behind his 440 using a 440 bellhousing and I don't know if that would have worked cause I haven't messed around with many Mopars.
FOUR YEARS??? How did that happen, without any reply? Anyway, if it was a 4OD that he wanted to use, he'd need a bell for a car 4-speed. BTW, the later Dodge trucks have a dual-pattern bell, fits big and small blocks.
I tried to buy one of those baseline late 70's overdrives and the transmission shop would not sell me one for a big block or even a decked out 360. He said even my D300 truck was too heavy to use that transmission as well.Quote:
