That's a pretty clean looking 58.
As far as going to electronic ignition, Petronix is about the easiest to do and most cost efficient. Their products are availabe from a number of catalog suppliers and many Auto Parts Stores.
On the exhaust manifold, I am afraid I can't help you there. sorry.Duane S

Nice car. to fix the exzaust manifolds, get a set of headders, there still made for the FE's, for the electronic ign, order a Summit racing catalog, if you look at the ignition systems pages, you'll find petronix points- electronic conversion kits so, you keep your original distributor but, instead of replacing points with points, you replace the points with the module. There is a listing for 1957-1974 Ford V8 in the ignitor 2 series which is 109 bucks, there is a mallory kit that has the same listing for 74 bucks. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

For the exhaust manifolds, you can check with Desert Valley Auto Parts in Arizona. I've had a lot of good luck with them. I wouldn't go with headers on a nice car like that.
If you're rebuilding the engine, you might want to see if you can get a cam and rocker package to change it to hydralic. Remember, this means a set of compatible rocker arms as well as lifters.
Good luck.---Tom

Matt look again. The standard Petronix is only 74.95 and is a proven unit. I've been using it on my 390 for over 3 years and it will go to 6000RPM with no problem. (part no. PNX-1281)Duane S

I have a stash of FE parts, might be able to help you out. The casting number would be the best, and a pic too so I know what to look for when I start checking numbers. Very fine set of wheels !!!! Looks like Grandpa must have liked you best !!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
