Noob on the rod forum
Hello everyone, Dave checking in here.
I'm new to this forum but a regular (mod) over at Club Chopper. I ride a home built scoot which was finished last May. Now I am getting a real craving for a rod. After a bit of research, it seems that the "traditional" rods like the Model A's and the '40 Fords etc have been priced right out of my reach.
That's ok. I'm really a fan of the big, postwar cars. Anything from about '46 to about '54. I subscribe to the Kustom Kulture/rockabilly/greaser style of rods. Lead sleds, WWW's, flames, tiki, pin ups...you know.... the cool stuff.
Anyway, I probably won't have a whole lot to contribute to this forum, but I will be lurking and surfing for info. If and when I start my rod project, I'll certainly post about it here.
Also, I know this is a hot rod forum, but I still have to post a pic of my pride and joy anyway...

Yeah, Larry is missed.
Great looking Nova BTW. 60's muscle cars were a weakness of mine for a long time. My next project car will be my first foray into something REALLY old.

I am a bike girl myself, I love to ride with my friends..I have always been into muscle cars and the 50's car.....so when I hooked up with my boyfriend I get the best of it all working at the shop and running karaoke at a biker bar. But welcome to the group I have really enjoyed it thus far.Hot rods aren't just big boy toys !!!

morning dave, the streetrod market is wide open right now. it's a buyers market on any year. the price of cars has been falling for several years. rodders are getting older and priorities change. i like the fat fender fords myself. i'm cutting one up on my web site right now. keep looking they're out there .
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
