Nothing wrong with that!!! The most important thing you are doing is spending time with your son doing something you are both interested in, everything else is secondary.... Welcome to CHR, lots of fine folks here with such diversified backgrounds and experience I'm positive all your questions and concerns can be answered...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave hit it on the head.................spending time bonding with your Son is what really counts.
How is he/you wanting to build this truck? Lowrider, hot rod, etc.? Let us know how we can help. Father/ Son projects are our very favorite.

thanks for all the support, he is wanting to make a hotrod, but for some strange reason wants to keep the 2.2L 4 cylinder engine in it, not much to do with that, bought an exhaust, throttle body spoacer, air intake, lowered 2inches in back and 1 1/2 in front, any more suggestions would be helpful not much out there for a 2.2L

welcome cholo187, not much on the 2.2. the only thing i ever did to one was take it out of my truck. just joking. as long as y'all are doing it together, and he has some input, it don't matter what motor it has. check my pic. out, i changed about everything you could change on a s10. good luckMike

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
