No, I grew up there, It's the State fairgrounds, it's the largest state fair, it always has been fairgrounds, everything there was built for the fairgrounds. Thats where they started the head on train wrecks you see in old movies, they did the trains to get more people to go, and then they turned it into the race track, that they ran asa and Mark Martin ran every year at the fair, which they have now ended. I went almost every year since I was 15, and went up to the year before last year, cause we moved to Tn last year to retire!

Back to the 50's is a great time, we would go on thursday when they were registering and driving in & out, then on Friday when they would start to park and set up their camping sites, then in the evening, go to N St Paul and park in there, where we know many people, and then saturday morning back to "Back to the 50's, and would walk the grounds and look at the cars, and then before sunrise Sunday morning you had to be at the swap meet to get the best deals before it started. which was in & on the race track. We have bought and sold trailer loads of stuff & bought & sold cars at the swap meet. We would drive our '47 KB-2 in and then park and pull wagons to haul all our stuff we bought. It was always a sunburn week-end! if it didn't rain. Always a Good time!!!!
