Trusting your life while using an engine stand for a car rotisserie..............senseless!
Engine stands are not heavy duty enough for rotating cars. Also, by the time you cut and modify you could be finishing the restoration!

Having used a rotissere before, I like your idea Streets about the chain binder. It is usually tough finding that center of gravity and turning it is an absolute pain with a cheater bar. I thought a chain drive mechanism for turning would be a great improvement to all of those I've seen. They look pretty easy to operate until you mount a car on one - then you understand that improvements can be made.You don't know the subject well enough if you can't explain it to your grandmother - Albert Einstein
