it's about time to do the paint on my 67 Ranchero. It has some pretty radical mods, partial mustang quarters and doors, caged, tubbed, etc. Anyway, I must defer to the experts on paint, I know the look I want, but am unsure how to get there. I'm thinking of I starting with a silver metallic basecoat, add some ghost flames in dark purple, then some purple pearl tint in the clear coat I should end up with some real mild color tint changes in varying light/angle of view conditions. Is this right, or am I just having another 60's flashback again? I don't want the "chrome illusion" gig with all the radical colors. I want the paint to compliment the car, not hide it. Thanks in advace for the help.
